(or at least make a dent in it)", says Dennis in his keynote addresses. Through engaging humor, true-life stories and unique perspectives, he leads the audience to new heights of personal insight, motivation and achievement. There's only one measure of success in public speaking: That the audience takes away what the speaker came to deliver. And Dennis delivers. In the words of a client, "...he leaves a sustaining contribution to his listeners...". "Soaring to New Heights" is what it's all about, whether it's your career, your family, your interests or your ambitions. As a licensed flight instructor, Dennis knows that life can be like flying ...a series of climbs, glides and turns, periods of straight and level, complex navigation and clear communication.Sometimes, what you need is someone to help you get rolling down the runway and lifting off the ground. With the same kind of care he gives flight students, Dennis guides audiences of all kinds with the basics and the complexities of life and business. As Dennis says in one of his stories...If you had been there that balmy afternoon as I brought the airplane in for a landing, you would have seen the ocean beaches off to our right, you would have felt the plane bank roughly left and right and bounce around in the air a bit, and then you would have felt the plane bounce a couple times as we hit the runway. You would have heard me say to Sam, one of my passengers, "Yikes, that was a rough landing." Sam reminded me, "Any landing you walk away from is a good landing."Later, landing at the airport back home, the airplane settled like a feather and you could hear the tires light screech as they gently kissed the runway. I said, "Now that was a smooth landing." Sam replied, "But we haven't walked away from it yet."No matter where you are in life, no matter where your business or career is, no matter where you are in pursuing your dreams, if you're still breathing, you haven't walked away from it yet. There's still more flying to do, more journeys to take, more lessons to learn. Rough landings and smooth landings are all part of life, and the sooner you get your flight plan in order the sooner you'll be "Soaring to New Heights".Inspiration for the heart, information for the mind ...Dennis moves people to seek new heights and empowers them to get there.Book Dennis Bauer for your next conference or event. about Dennis
He stood on top of Mt. Rainier in 60-mile an hour winds. He sailed Puget Sound in an electrical storm. He ran out of fuel while piloting a small plane 6,000 feet above northern Colorado. Other than that, he's a pretty normal guy.Except for his extraordinary passion to make a dent in the world by talking to people about how they can make a dent in the world.Standing in front of the high school church youth group to deliver my first speech in the youth group speech contest, I wondered if anyone would pay attention. I gave the first line, "Picture in your mind a mountain." The rest of the speech had to do with the importance of collecting money for the March of Dimes to help fight cancer, a disease my mother had battled. I closed my speech and sat down. Sometime in the next hour the adult contest judges came into the room. The third place winner was announced. The second place winner. Then they said, "And the first place winner is ...'picture in your mind a mountain!'" That one short sentence, changed my life. After college, Dennis spent several years as a full time pastor where public speaking was more than a weekly occurrence. His devotion to effective communications led to ownership of a video production company, and then a real estate business where he used his knack for telling stories to train and motivate real estate agents.I sat around the campfire long into the night, entranced by story after story told by a bush pilot from Africa. A story of a pygmy tribe. A story of a big green snake in the cockpit while flying over the plains. A story of hope and healing. Big surprise when, several years later, I posed for a photo by the airplane in which I had just soloed.Stories are the best way to drive home a point, to illustrate an idea, to bring people to action. Dennis realized, along with cavemen and astronauts, "story" is the key to motivation, inspiration, instruction and leading. Dennis' stories rivet together the points of his presentations and the value his audiences need.Dennis is Dad to three grown children. He lives in the Puget Sound area of Washington State and has been in 44 states and 8 other countries. As an active member of Toastmasters International, Dennis has achieved Advanced Communicator Gold, the highest level in advanced speaking.Dennis has 60 years of stories ...with the enthusiasm of a teenager! You'll want him at your next meeting, conference or special event.

"Awesome You!"
"If the sun were a golf ball..." Dennis compares the size of our sun to a golf ball in an inspirational and motivational speech called, "Awesome You!". In an amazing and entertaining exploration of the size of the universe and the smallness of quarks, audiences discover how each of us fits in the enormity of it all, and how each of us can make a dent on the planet.
As a keynote speaker, audiences enjoy Dennis' exploration of the physical universe and how you fit into it.
Light travels at 186,000miles per second. The earth is 93 million miles from the sun. The light you see streaming through your window (if you're reading this during the day, and don't live in the Pacific Northwest) actually left the sun over 8 minutes ago!
Dennis asks, "How big is big?" and "How small is small?" When you begin to realize both the immensity and the minuteness of our universe, you can feel very overwhelmed.
Yet one awesome fact in this crazy big (and crazy small) universe will lead to the inspiring and motivating conclusion of...
..."Awesome You!"
"Life at the Top"
"Life at the Top" While most people look for mountaintop experiences, it's in the valleys where life is abundant. This is an award-winning speech on discovering the value of life's "valley" experiences and how to use them to accelerate personal or corporate growth.Having actually stood on top of 14,000-foot mountains in Colorado and Washington State, Dennis attests that there's very little life up there. Getting to the top is the result of planning, preparing and hard work, and getting there makes for good stories after. But the mountain top is not where life is.Your business , your family and your life do not become great because of mountain tops. Dennis shows you how real and abundant life, the lessons that matter, and deep insight come from slogging through the bogs and forests and fogs ...the valleys of business, the valleys of life.Dennis uncovers the two keys to surviving and thriving in the valleys. These work for sports, for business, for leadership, for families, for life."Life at the Top" is an experience of real living, and the lessons learned in the valleys.

"Paving the Road to Success" It's said that the road to success is paved with failure. Dennis asks, If your road is ONLY paved with failure, how does that lead to success? Leadership and success are both useful to your future ...IF you know how to learn from them and use them. Here are the keys to paving a road with both. Many have pointed out Thomas Edison's statement, "I've not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." Nevertheless, he eventually found success. There is no point to finding failure ...unless you know the keys to using them to find what you really want ...success.And think about sucess. What if all you did was succeed? Sounds good ...but is it really? Finding sucess, without using the keys Dennis presents, will make you a "one hit wonder".Paving the Road to Success presents the keys to get you tuned up and running well, to get you from here to there.

"Thinking for Yourself"
Thinking for Yourself The Secret and The Law of Attraction - Really? Its amazing how many people have bought into the philosophy, and Dennis takes a fun, but contrarian viewpoint to help people think through the source and the various elements of this popular bandwagon ...and in the process learn how to become an independent thinker.Lemmings die every year simply because not one of them takes leadership and asks key questions ...key questions that would change the lemming world. Questions like, "Why are we doing this anyway?" and "Who said we should do this, and what do they know? and "If we keep doing this, where will we end up?"Thinking for Yourself teaches you how to avoid the bandwagon trap, make up your own mind and think with personal integrity.
