DELTA SIGMA PI
ABOUT
As a professional fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi has offered an ideal balance of professionalism and social interaction since its founding at NYU in 1907. Briefly, we offer professional development through professional speakers, etiquette dinners, workshops and LEAD schools, to name a few. Socially, we typically have a brother retreat and a semi-formal in the fall semester and a formal in the spring, as well as other formal and informal gatherings like bowling nights, tailgates for football games, and trivia nights.
Delta Sigma Pi has a rich tradition at the University of South Carolina. Established at USC in 1929, we hold the distinction of being the oldest professional business fraternity at USC, and are the only professional business fraternity on campus consisting completely of business students. Delta Sigma Pi is unique in its singular focus on business development and stresses the importance of cultivating the most well rounded young professionals, who uphold the highest level of integrity. With a membership consisting solely of Business students, Delta Sigma Pi offers a program directly applicable both to the undergraduate business major and to the contemporary corporate environment. In addition, Delta Sigma Pi offers a vast network of members and alumni which has proved helpful in securing internships and jobs after college.
Delta Sigma Pi was founded in 1907 at New York University's School of Commerce, Accounts and Finance by Harold Valentine Jacobs, Alexander Frank Makay, Alfred Moysello and Henry Albert Tienken. Today, coast to coast, more than 250 chapters and over 220,000 members support the goals and ideals of the Fraternity.
The Beta Gamma Chapter at the University of South Carolina was founded April 13, 1929 in the Gressette Room in Harper College, which resides on the historical horseshoe at the University of South Carolina. Beta Gamma currently consists of approximately 70-85 brothers.
