In studio and on location services are both avilable to accomadate the needs of any project. Flexible payment options include hourly, per song and per project.
Owner John Murphy has years of experience in the music industry as a musician and producer/engineer. John graduated from Acadia University's Music Technology degree program in 2004.
Electronic Drum Kit
September 2009 saw major upgrades to our Alesis DM-5 Electronic Drum kit. We have replaced four of the original Alesis rubber trigger pads and the hi-hat pedal with Roland V-Drum Mesh pads, a kick drum trigger and Hi-hat pedal. The customized kit is now includes:
For triggering, MIDI recording and monitoring we are using the trusted, tried and true Alesis DM-5. Please note that Toontrack EZ-Drummer (all expansion packs) is mostly used for acoustic sample playback and the audio from the DM-5 is usually only monitored while recording to eliminate any latency issues.
DAW Upgrade
In July 2009 Simple Productions upgraded its main Digital Audio Workstation to Steinberg Cubase 5. Cubase 5 offers many new features, including built in pitch correction and editing, Halion Symphonic Orchestra sound library, an extensive list of VST Instruments, effects and much more. A New Home
In June 2009 Simple Productions relocated to a ne location in Lower Sackville, NS. The studio now offers over three times the space, including a larger control room, entrance and live room. We will gladly work with our clients to help with transportaion. Schedule a quick meeting and check out our new home.
Although Simple Productions is fully equipped to multitrack- record acoustic drums on the road or in the studio, we highly recommend our clients record with an electronic drum kit. Here is why:
