March 2010
Recently, Simple Productions was on set capturing audio and dialogue for the short film “Broken”. Ironically the short film is a production of a company called Simple Films. Simple Films started in England and now has an office in River John, Nova Scotia. Sound editing and mixing to picture is scheduled to begin in late March. “Broken” is to be entered in the upcoming Irish Film Festival.
Recently recorded tracks from Ian Alistair Gosbee’s upcoming release are already creating a buzz. Watch his music, including the single “Women”, clime the local charts at Reverbnation and other internet music sites. There are talks of a possible music video for “Women” in the future.
January 2010
2010 is looking like a busy year at Simple Productions. We are currently working towards full album releases with Chaos Theory, Afterthought, Ben Brayley and 460 Kustom and Ian Gosbee. Also, look forward to a funk driven release in the near future from the band Chalkpit from Halifax. Keep your eyes and ears open.
We are please to start work on Stephen Huntley's second CD, and are proud to announce that his track "By the Light" is featured on a nationwide Salvation Army compilation CD. "By the Light" was the first song completed in Simple Production's new facility.
September 2010
Fall is always a busy season for Simple Productions. This year is no exception. We are busy with both new and returning clients.
Days of Reckoning are taking Reverbnation by storm with their music recorded at Simple Production. There are talks of a video and acoustic versions of their songs, along with a full album in the works. You don't want to take you eye off this band.
Jason Ross is another newcomer to the studio. His brilliant lyrics and voice work wonders with his memorable melodies. Jason has come to Simple Productions for full productions and arrangements of his work.
Ben Brayley and Stephen Huntley continue to be regulars at the studio, both working on their upcoming releases. John Murphy is currently penning sheet music for Stephen's live preformances with the fairview Salvantion Army Band.
Ian Gosbee has returned to the studio to continue work on his second release. He has recently shot a video for his first single, Rock'n'Roll Rodeo. He continues to stay in high ranks on the nation Reverbnation charts.
April 2010
The studio will see many upgrades this month. These include the addition of a Focusrite Liquid Mix and three Behringer BCF2000 controllers.
The Liquid Mix will bring a total of 32 channels of modelled vintage compressors and EQs to the main studio DAW. All at no strain on the CPU. This unit has created a lot of buzz in the industry and has got nothing but amazing reviews.
The BCF2000s are 8 channel MIDI fader controllers that will be cascaded together to create a 24 channel MIDI fader control surface for controlling Cubase 5.
This month we will be wrapping up our work on "Broken", a short film done in Wallace Nova Scotia. We will also be finishing up the final touches on the anticipated ChalkPit EP and the Afterthought Debut. We will be starting work on Timeless Highway's debut release, a newly formed bluegrass band from Lower Sackville.
The studio is based around a state of the art Digital Audio Workstation running Cubase SX3 and many other popular programs for tracking, precise editing, mixing and mastering. For triggering, MIDI recording and monitoring we are using the trusted, tried and true Alesis DM-5. Please note that
Toontrack EZ-Drummer (all expansion packs) is mostly used for acoustic sample playback and the audio from the DM-5 is usually only monitored while recording to eliminate any latency issues.

Timeless Highway is a traditional bluegrass band. With their lively performances and tight vocal harmonies, they always keep their crowds on their feet. The band their first album live off the floor at Simple Productions in the winter of 2010.
