My name is Kimberly Farmer and I am the Technology Facilitator here at the school. Welcome to Sallie B Howard's attempt to take the pulse of our academic community. Here is a place to let us know what you think works at the school and what you think could be improved on. Here at Sallie B Howard we believe that all children can achieve and we know that you feel the same way because you took the time to enroll your student here at the school. I am especially interested in your views about the technology department here at the school but any constructive input will be appreciated. As we all know teachers have quite a bit of time to look for technology rich activites to use in the classroom. Wait a minute...... this is not my dream world where teachers' planning period are never interrupted by emergency meetings or students are always actively engaged. No, this is reality and teachers do not have the time to hunt for technology to integrate into their curriculum. No fear, I am here to help. Below I have compiled a list of websites that can assist you from everything to lesson planning and enrichment activites to remediation to just plain fun to use in the classroom. COMPUTER SKILLS
Welcome to your online course for Computer Skills! This course is a Hybrid course which means some work will be done online and some work will be done in the computer lab. If at anytime during this course you find that you need additional assistance outside of class time, or you feel overwhelmed please make an appointment to get additional assistance either before school or afterschool via web tutoring.All web tutoring will be done in pairs or individually. In order to participate in web tutoring you must have a computer with Internet access at home, additionally a microphone and webcam could also be beneficial. I hope this course will be very beneficial in preparing you to take the North Carolina Computer Skills in October. Good luck and I look forward to working with you this quarter!!
