NEWS and events
On October the 31st I visited to the Lower South West for the second time. Northcliffe was the club I visited, a two hour drive from Busselton. Northcliffe has a nice little setup with some of the best pitches I have seen. I could sense the enthusiasm for the game as soon I arrived. It was already bussing at 7.45am. Manjimup Rovers was the visiting club for the day. Before all the games started I conducted a session with all the players and I must say that I was impressed with all of them. They all give me 100% with the session and that is what you want as a coach. The games were competitive with Manjimup winning most of the games. The coaches of the teams did a good job with the kids and look like they have them well under control.
One thing what stood out for me was the amount of girls playing football in this region. They were very competitive and had no fear. Some of them were really quality and have the potential to play for the state. If they keep working hard it will pay off for some. What also was good to see was the Parents V Players game at the end of the day which I joined for a little while. This is a great idea to finish the day; it is part of a great day of football, not just playing the game and go home, no hang around, support the other teams and stay for THE game were everybody can show their talent.
I had a great day in North Cliff and i hope you guys learnt something that day.
