The never-ending challenge of housing...what a pain! Rarely a recognition of a job well done, but plenty of complaints. Well, here's one huge THANK YOU! From the beginning, I knew Phoenix was going to be a major task. I'm glad you were the one to help us navigate the problems. I appreciate your hard work and dedication to helping everyone. All the best, Jim.
~ Jim McGraw, Lawrence Livermore National Lab, General Chair for SC03, Phoenix, AZ
Thanks, Debbie. I really appreciate all your help!

Hi Debbie,
I appreciate the info. Thanks so much for following up with me.
It was a pleasure working with you as well.
Kind Regards,
~ Cathy Trupiano, World Wide Technology, Inc.
I am delighted to add my praise for the work that Task Handlers did for us and to recommend their services to others for managing housing and other conference arrangements.
Task Handlers managed housing for the conference itself and for many of the satellite events (receptions, private meetings) of associated vendors and groups. Debbie was the helpful, human face for the conference organizing committee and more importantly for the attendees and exhibitors. The success of the conference infrastructure was due in no small part to Task Handlers' success in housing arrangements.
SC02 broke historical attendence records and required a lot of last minute adjustments of hotel space and dealing with hotel policies of overbooking. Task Handlers did a wonderful job of working to do this as smoothly and helpful as possible.
Finally I would note that, Task Handlers has worked with many of the annual conferences on housing and local arrangements successfully.

Dear Debbie,
I am sorry I did not get the chance earlier to thank you for all your initial work on our behalf to find accommodations for the group from e-Science in the UK. I know it was a difficult task on short notice. They eventually all stayed in one place, the Plaza Suite Hotels, and all seems to have worked out very well. Thanks again!

Thank you for your recommendation re: staying at Fells Point in Baltimore. This was just the kind of area that we enjoy. We stayed at a lovely B&B that felt like home--it was quiet, clean, airy -- with a little porch that looked out at other people's porches. Even heard birds and could smell the water. It was perfect! And, we enjoyed taking the water taxi. Again, thank you for the recommendation!

Dear Debbie:
The letters keep coming in! Check out this note from one of our attendees:
"Portland provided a superb setting for a lively and stimulating annual meeting of the Rural Sociological Society. Behind the scenes, energy and creativity went in to make the meetings run smoothly, masking unavoidable crises. The picnic - held in a lovely grove of tall trees on the campus of a private school, with a superbly cooked and catered dinner of many salads, beans, barbecued chicken and berry pie was one of the finest in the memory of this correspondent. A blues sort of trio provided mellow, soft background music to spur great discussions and sweet reminiscences. Thank you for a job finely and elegantly done!"
My best to you and may next year be the best ever!
~ Arnie Holden, Local Arrangements Chair, Rural Sociological Society
