About Cleveland.
Cleveland. is a window into a two week period of Ethans life. He is twenty four, living in New York, battling the heart break and depression left him by his ex, trying to find a job, and although he hasnt done it for months, considers himself a writer. After a very unlucky trip to Atlantic City, and a surprise visit from his parents, Ethan finds himself examining his life and possibly trying to change his habits. While avoiding his parents, Ethan helps his friends navigate through their problems, as they help him see his differently. Owen, his best friend, is convinced he is going insane. Jones and Erika look to Ethan to show them being together is always better than alone. Nic wants desperately to be married, and if she would stop standing in her way, soon will be. Scott and Thomas use Ethan to keep life from getting too seriously.Owen is fired from his fathers psychiatry office just before meeting his love interest, Prudence. Nic is dating Nice-Guy Dave, who is apparently way too nice to continue dating. Thomas is on a strict deadline to finish his latest art project, and Scott is just trying to keep Thomas focused.Cleveland. is a very true to life story. Its great friends, classic characters, unusual conversation, and debating change more than actually changing.

When I was 18, I left home and moved to New York. My parents wanted me to stay. My dad owns a produce supply company, and he wanted me to take over. I didn't. I spend most of my time writing. That's what I do. Write. Short stories. Or at least I did. I haven't written in months. Not since...I had a job for a while. I was working at a video store. Not a great job, but it covered most of the bills, and it was easy. My boss found me a place to live for practically nothing. He died about two years ago. When he died, all he had was the store and me, so he put us together. He left it to me. I didn't want to run a video store, so I sold my half to his partner... And I've pretty much been living off that for last two years. But, you see, my friend, not really even a friend, but a guy we all know, well, he had his birthday in Atlantic City. I lost most of what I had left, so now, I have to find a job. My girlfriend broke up with me about 6 months ago. I havent been on a date since. I ,actually, have had a hard time finding the motivation to do pretty much anything since. Anything except smoke. At least when I'm high, I can laugh. I just want her back. Not really sure why she left. She said it was because I am too nice and she doesnt deserve me. I find that hard to believe. A note for women: thats not a nice way to break up with a guy. Its haunting. Because we know its just not true... Damn it. I need a joint.

Owen age: 27
I am going insane. I think it started about 5 years ago. I was at college. I went to Princeton for two years. I left after my second year. It wasn't for me. I skipped most of my classes, and I just felt it wasn't time for me to be there. I am getting pressure from my parents, who, sadly, I live with. But who can afford rent in New York? And, when you have a free place to stay, you take advantage. Although the pressure is getting pretty thick to go back to school, I can't do that. I have too much in the works. I am moving to Cleveland to start a newspaper. I just need the start up cash. Due to my lack of a availability in the world of the sane, I am having trouble procuring the money. But I will. Most of my time is spent behind the front desk of my dad's office. He's an analyst - of people. I work as his secretary. It's easy. And, it allows me plenty of time to read.I spend my time off talking my way through my lack of sanity with my buddies Ethan and Jones. Ethan is usually stoned, so his thought process lines up with mine nicely. I guess that's it. I'm Owen, and I'm going insane.

Jones age: 28
Well, I've lived in New York for two years now with my girlfriend, Erika. I work a job I don't like. It pays the rent, so I don't mind it, but I don't like it by any means. Basically, my day consists of cigarette breaks sprinkled with flickering moments of work. I check my email a lot. I would say in an average day, I probably check my email twenty times before I take lunch. You ever find yourself just clicking the refresh button, timing how long you go between emails? Funny part is, I rarely respond to them. I just want to receive them right away. My nights pretty much go as follows - get home from work, Ethan comes over, we smoke some greens, he passes out on the couch, and I go to bed (where Erika has been waiting for the last two hours). My girlfriend desperately wants to get married. I'm not ready, so I just keep telling her I'll propose when she stops asking. It's the perfect trap.

Erika age: 27
I have lived in New York for around two years. My boyfriend, Jones, and I moved here together. My average day consists of waking Ethan up, because he usually sleeps on our couch, then I go to work (I work for a 3D animation company). I love it. After work, I go home, cook dinner, and watch my shows. Usually Ethan is over in the evenings - he and Jones have become good friends. Owen is over a lot too, but he doesn't sleep over. I don't mind. They're my boys. Kind of like brothers. I grew up in a small town. Very small. My family is still there. I haven't been back. I can't afford it right now, and last Christmas, we went to Jones' parents. Jones thinks I want to get married tomorrow. I don't. I just like how red he turns when I ask him where my ring is.

Okay, so here is me. I work in PR. I keep everything moving. But, work is boring, so there's no reason for me to go on about it. I live in New York. I have for, well, if I told you how long, I would have to admit how old I am, and I don't do that - I don't even let new pictures be seen publically (hence the baby pic). I live within walking distance of my best friend, Scott. We used to date, but then he went gay, so I introduced him to Thomas. They live together. Back to me. I started seeing this guy recently. He's really nice. I am not sure if it's going to work out. He's too nice. My mom calls me everyday to tell me about the articles she reads in Reader's Digest. You didn't need to know that. Here's the bottom line, I like hanging out with my friends, eating good food and relaxing... And if you have a stable job, we should talk about what night you can take me to dinner. I dont mean for it to sound like that, but I have an Ethan in my life. I dont have room for another lazy, broke stoner. Thanks.

Scott age: 37
Hello. Where to start? I am a consultant for a communications company. It started as a "until the next thing comes along" job, and I stayed. I've been promoted and promoted, and I am now in a great position. You know, I like it enough not to leave. It allows me time with friends. And that's what I really love. I live with my boyfriend, Thomas. He's an artist. We've been together 7 years. I love my friends. If it wasnt for them, I would be completely bored. Luckily, they keep me pretty busy. I am often viewed as the voice of reason and adulthood amongst our little clique - though I rarely feel that way. Thomas and I host a brunch every Sunday. Though usually we host a dinner or two during the week as well. Thinking about it, our lives are really run by meal time. The next thing I am looking forward to is almost always a meal - either because Im hungry or because Im meeting everyone for lunch. I do love food. And I love that my friends do as well.

Thomas age: 38
I am an artist. A working artist. I do installation pieces, painting, sculpture, and find moments in life to use. There is nothing that can be overlooked or forgotten. I pick up magazines, books, pieces of paper, combs, toothbrushes... anything I can find that I think might come in handy some day. I have not been to a restaurant in four years without leaving with a wine list or menu. My lover, Scott, is standing over me right now. He likes to keep check on me. We've been together for seven years now. I would say, I am probably the quiet one. I like to sit back and watch in most social situations. I sold my first piece of art when I was 17. It was a baby crib I had covered with obituaries. Getting paid for doing what I do could be the best feeling in the world, and I didn't want to let go of it, so I didn't. Down side, deadlines. I am not a fan of them. I like to take my time. Galleries seem to like things done quickly.

Prudence age: 25
I am currently studying journalism. I am not quite sure if its actually what I want to do, but I love knowing why things are the way they are and how they got that way. I live for details and back story. I rarely date. I love museums. I love researching museums. Not just the art, but everything about them - when the work of art was brought to the museum, why the room is shaped like an octagon... I love the english language. People say its an ugly language, and if you were to listen to the average American, it is. But, it is a language with more potential than any other. We have more freedom with slang and double meanings, we can change meanings of words and phrases, and most importantly, we can spin lines of words that just make the tongue dance with joy as the air passes over.

I am seeking people who are interested in investing in and becoming a part of "Cleveland.".This script has been, and this film will continue to be a true labor of love. This is your chance to become a part of it."Cleveland." has a budget of $125,000 USD. The budget has been split into 50 shares of $2,500. Each share is 1% of the film. This means, after all investors recoup their investment, each would receive 1% of the films profit per share purchased. Please, download the investment package by clicking the link to the right. If you have any questions, email or call me at any time. There are always risks when investing in a film. For many years, film investing has been considered one of the riskier investments you could make. And, for years, it was true. Today, it is not. The market for independent film is growing every year. Websites such as youtube.com, ifilm.com, indiewire.com, ifcfilms.com, filmplanet.com and countless others have made it possible for indie films to advertise, screen, and sell worldwide. Companies such as Netflix allow publication and circulation of any film put onto DVD. The market is growing. Technological advancements have made it possible for indie films to have life beyond festivals. At the same time, there are more festivals every year and more companies offering to distribute low budget features. The success of films such as "Once", "Little Miss Sunshine", "The Station Agent", and so many more, have shown that there is a market for low budget, simple films. "Cleveland." is a film that can reach a wide range of audiences. Each character will attract and speak to a different market group. While there is risk in investing in a feature film, there is also great opportunity. Throughout the recession, throughout difficult times, the entertainment industry has remained strong. This is your chance to become a part of it.This film is going to be made. Don't miss your chance to join the team, to see your name on the big screen, to say "I helped make this", to make a dream come true...
