Along with St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine, Dawna Panko will once again be providing the athletic training coverage for the 2011-2012 school year at Notre Dame Academy.

St Elizabeth Sports Medicine provides athletic training coverage to local high schools in Northern Kentucky. The athletic trainer plays an integral part in the prevention, evaluation, and treatment of various athletic injuries. They also work in close contact with team physicians and physical therapist to ensure the athletes are returned to sports quickly and safely. DR. MICHAEL MILLER

Providing a variety of services for active individuals and athletes, St. Elizabeth Healthcare Sports Medicine combines the expertise of Dr. Michael J. Miller, Sports Medicine Specialist, with outstanding physical therapy and athletic training services. Services include:* On-site X-ray facilities, operated by registered radiological technicians (available at Florence and Edgewood offices only) *Physical therapy services provided by experienced therapists and athletic trainers who deliver individualized attention to every patient we serve. We are able to treat a variety of orthopaedic injuries to the foot/heel, ankle, knee, back and neck, elbow and shoulder. *A full line of Orthopaedic Bracing to assist you as you recover *Concussion Program featuring ImPact Testing.
Michael J. Miller, M.D. is a sports medicine specialist and has been the Medical Director of St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine since its inception in 1989. He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and completed a primary care sports medicine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in 1988. He holds a current certificate of added qualifications (CAQ) in sports medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine. In 1998, he served as team physician at the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, New York.In 2000, he was recognized as a Best Doctor by Cincinnati Magazine. He is very active in teaching and is currently a part of the clinical teaching staff for the primary care sports medicine fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Miller is currently an active member of the Kentucky Medical Association committee on physical education and medical aspects of sports. In addition to treating orthopedic injuries, Dr. Miller enjoys treating the medical, psychological and nutritional needs of the active individual. Dawna has been with St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine since October of 2000. She currently works out of the Edgewood and Mt. Zion offices and serves as a physician extendor to Dr. Michael Miller. She is also the Supervisor of Athletic Training Services. Dawna recieved her undergraduate degree at Thomas More College and has a Masters degree from the University of Cincinnati. She currently holds certification from the National Athletic Trainer’s Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) as a Certified Athletic Trainer, and is a Licensed Athletic Trainer for the State of Kentucky.

VIDEO ANALYIS

The ImPact Test is a computerized test which can help to measure the cognitive/mental changes that occur when an athlete suffers from a concussion. This test can be used after a concussion to help in determining an athlete’s return to play guidelines. Call (859) 301-5600 to schedule your ImPact Baseline today
St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine offer annual pre-participation physical examinations for all NDA athletes. Athletes will schedule a private physical throughout the summer for $25.00. Physicals will be held at our Edgewood and Florence offices.
St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine now offers Enhanced Video Anyalysis for all sports and occupations. The analysis can be used to assess and enhance your performance, whether you are trying to improve your running form ,pitching motion, golf swing or tennis serve.
