BIO

I am a ceramic artist and have been digging Oregon clays for over 40 years. My focus is on Raku and I enjoy making jewelry, wall pieces and sculpture. I find it rewarding that my art is affordable, that the discerning eye appreciates not only my artistic balance and creativity but also my price points.

Most pieces are Raku fired from locally dug clay that is mined from high in the cascade mountains. The unusually high mineral content of this volcanic clay reacts spectacularly with the open fire technique of Raku. The shape of my pieces are inspired by the actual shape of mountains and cliffs and become a reflection of a wilderness experience.

Beachcombing has always been important in my life. It's a meditation that teaches patience, acceptance and gratitude. I enjoy finding beautiful shells and beach glass that is then artfully crafted into jewelry that connects with beachside treasure hunters like myself.
