September 11 /Christian Newswire/ -- Today marks a day that changed our great nation and the people living in it. Six years ago our hearts were broken, but our resolve to make that day count in light of eternity soared. This tragedy called for the military might of nations to arise and the call came forth to the citizen soldier to come to their nation's aid once again. These citizen soldiers put down their chalk, shovels, computers, baby bottles and calculators and took up their posts. Things changed. Lives changed.
One changed life was that of Darrell Parsons, member of the Air National Guard. Within weeks of 9/11/2001, Darrell was activated with his home unit for full-time military duty.
After five years, Parsons was released from full-time military service. Darrell took his family's experience in publishing, retail and ministry to birth Parsons Publishing House which seeks to affect the lives of others in light of eternity. Our policy is to accept unsolicited multiple submissions. Once you have read how we choose our projects and our statement of beliefs, you will be able to determine if your work would be compatible with our publishing criteria. In order to enter a publishing partnership, we must be in philosophical agreement. The Scripture asks: how can two walk together unless they agree?
If you are interested in pursuing a partnership, complete the Manuscript Submission Questionnaire and email it with a copy of your completed manuscript tset to the following specifications: MS Word document; double-spaced; one-inch margins; table of contents and chapter outlines. Email both documents to info_parsonspublishinghouse.com. The manuscript submission questionnaire is REQUIRED; your manuscript may be discarded if it is not received. We are unable to return unsolicited manuscript materials that are mailed.
After your submission is received, we will review your material. If your manuscript is accepted, you can expect to be contacted by us within 16 weeks. At that time, we will offer you a publishing contract for your consideration. It is our goal to contact everyone whose manuscript is not accepted; however, you may not receive a written response. Due to the number of submissions, we are unable to acknowledge receipt or give status reports regarding unsolicited manuscripts. It is possible that the review process may take up to 6 months.

AUTHORS: If you are interested in publishing your manuscript, please read the criteria below, in addition to our Statement of Beliefs, FAQs and the PPH Difference. After you read each section and you feel that PPH would be a good partner for your book project, please submit your Manuscript Questionnaire.
#1: Does the manuscript exalt the Lord Jesus Christ and the Bible as the Word of God?
Any work we consider will have God at it's heart and will recognize the truth of the Bible.
#2: Does the author have a good testimony in their community? State? Nation? World?
We want to know about the author's life and what people think of them. A pastor's referral is often requested.
#3: Is the manuscript compatible with the mission of Parsons Publishing House?
The book may be a good spiritual truth, but not part of our mission.
#4: How far-reaching is the author's influence? What is the size of their world?
We are looking for our authors to be affecting lives and touching others for the Lord.
#5: Is the manuscript well-written? Do they have a logical organization and present their story or truth in a coherent way?
We have editors to fix grammar problems, but we are looking for the foundation of the manuscript to be solid.
#6: Does the author have a platform of ministry? Do they preach in a church? Do they have speaking engagements? Do they teach a Bible Study?
If an author can't sell their book, then we can't either. We are looking for the author to have a platform from which they may offer their book.
#7: Is the manuscript more than a glorified Bible study? Is there a fresh revelation? Is there a unique happening?
We are looking for fresh content.
#8: The last question we ask: does the book have a market that we service?
First of all, we pray about every book we publish. If we feel strongly that a book must be released, we join in with excitement. In other cases, we must assess the ability of our company and distribution channels to meet the needs of each unique title.

The publishing industry is in the midst of a revolution. The standard paradigm for publishing is not as effective as it once was. At PPH, we utilize the cutting-edge technology of digital printing for small runs as demand is building and then we may use a traditional press for large runs.
Once a book has been published, the most important item is distribution. Our company has formed a partnership for domestic distribution with STL, one of the largest Christian book distributors in the United States. For international distribution, we have secured a relationship with 3:16 Media, which presently serves 41 nations. Q: What does an ideal book look like to your company?
A: It has a clear and concise Scriptural message. The author is committed to the work and has a testimony of character and influence in their world. It should have "short" chapters and the word count should be about 20,000 words +/- 7500.
Q: How many books will be printed?
A: Normally, we begin with a digital printing run as we build up demand for your book. As demand increases, we will explore the options of continuing the digital printing or ordering a large offset printing run. By utilizing digital printing, we are able to control inventory volumes and keeping your book copies looking fresh.
Q: How do you sum up what PPH is all about?
A: With almost fifty combined years of Christian service, our lives are committed, first of all, to the Lord Jesus. After that, we are committed to THE MESSAGE and RELATIONSHIP. Firstly, the message must be consistent with our mission and beliefs. Secondly, relationship with our authors, printers, marketing professionals, distributors, etc. is of the utmost importance.
Q: Do you offer distribution for your books?
A: Yes. Once a book has been published, the most important item is distribution. Q: Does it cost me to have my book published with you?
A: No. We do not offer self or subsidy publishing. We are a traditional, royalty-paying publishing company. However, to demonstrate the author's commitment to the project, we expect each author to purchase books.
Q: Do you physically print the books?
A: No, we outsource the printing to one of the nation's largest book printers.
Q: What is the procedure to getting a book published?
A: Submit your manuscript via email to PPH. If our company is interested in partnering with you on your project, we will offer you our standard publishing contract. Once you sign the contract, the cover will be designed. Initial marketing will begin at this point. We will begin editing and laying out your book. You will have the opportunity to view your new book. The final time you view the book, we will ask you to sign off on your new book. Once the final files are forwarded to the printer, you receive your personal book copies within 10-15 business days.
Q: What is the most important thing to share with authors?
A: If we enter a partnership with you, we are committed to your project. Our call in life is not to make you rich, but to promote the message of Jesus Christ. The author is the most important link in the publishing chain. If you don't believe in your book and promote it, there's probably not much that we can do.
