Come to a SGQ show, and you will be whisked back in time to a cafe in Paris in the mid-1930's. We don't have the pencil thin mustaches, but we do play the same style of jazz performed most notably by the Quintette du Hot Club de France , led by guitarist Django Reinhardt, and violinist Stephane Grapelli. We also play straight-ahead jazz and latin jazz.
Dan O'Dea, violin
Michael Newman, guitar
Paul Krautheim, guitar

This group is comprised of some of the busiest players in the bustling New York City bluegrass scene. In no way is this a pickup band. When I decided to record a solo bluegrass record five years after my first gig at Wind Gap, I called up some of the best players I have worked with. In one day of practice, and one day in the studio, these fellas helped me put together a "live in the studio" disc that I still love listening to after countless hours of mixing, uploading, and promoting it. Each of these players is at home in the bluegrass substyles of traditional, progressive, and newgrass. Follow the links on the home page to hear tracks from our self titled debut recording.
Rick Snell, guitar
Elio Schiavo, mandolin
Jon Mark Fletcher, banjo
Joe Choina, bass
