This region of Provence has stunning vineyards, miles of pine forests and medieval hillside villages. The contrasting Provencal cities of Aix-en-Provence and Nice lie to the west and east, respectively. Staying in Villa Rosetta makes the perfect base for exploring this beautiful region.
How to get here:
Fly: nearest airport is Nice or Marseilles where it is possible to hire a car. It is an hours drive from Nice and slightly less frm Maresilles.
Drive: nearest ferry is Toulon, however most people who drive down come into Calais. Villa Rosetta is just off the A8 Junction 30 - Brignoles.

-Cycling is very popular with the French and there are many recommended cycle routes in the area.
- The stunning Gorge du Verdon, the deepest gorge in Europe lies 45 minutes to the north and is well worth a day's visit. Water sports at the nearby Lac de St Croix, include pedalos, water rafting, canoeing.
- Most golf courses in the Var are are within an hours drive from the villa.Bars/ Pubs/ Restaurants: Hôtel du Golf de Barbaroux is a short 500 Metre walk away, and there are others in the neighboroughing villages and in Brignoles town centre.
- Beaches: Cannes, St Tropez, Hyeres, Bandol, Cap Benat , Le Lavendou, Sanary-Sur-Mer, Cannes. Cassis is an hour by car with its famous calanques waterways (by boat).
- Historical Cities: Beautiful Aix-en-Provence is 50 minutes by car. Nice is 1 hour by car. Monaco is 1 hour 20 minutes and worth visiting for the day, the oceanic museum, fabulous jewellery shops and lunch at one of the roof top restaurants overlooking the harbour. Many beautiful hill top, medieval villages to explore within 30 minutes.
- Special interest holidays: The villa is conveniently situated for walking enthusiasts (a walkers guide is in the villa). Wine lovers can visit wine domains in the vicinity (it is said that there are over 200 wine domains within a 20 mile radius of Barbaroux.
