James
Jack James wowed the judges and the audience alike at the F-Factor finals in Wakefield earlier this year. This up-and-coming band from South Yorkshire perform a combination of acoustic chill out, jazz, swing and pop music. Jack, Simon, James and Jay bring a refreshing twist to popular chart hits like youve never heard before, as well as throwing in a few original tracks here and there to mix things up. With over 30 years combined musical experience, these four talented individuals are professional and focused with a passion to entertain.
Jack has a true love and passion for music. His career in the music business began in 2004 when he was an X Factor Finalist. He has been mentored by Mark Hudson and signed by Virgin Records and Sony between the years of 2005 and 2009. During this time he toured with Michael Buble and he has also performed with Leon Jackson, Cleopatra, and many other local artists. Adding to his singing career, he has also been a guest presenter on Hallam FM. This new venture is a combination of acoustic chill out, jazz, swing and pop music working with local musicians, Simon Brook, James Hartley and James Freer.
James has played musical instruments from early childhood through to the present, choosing the Bass Guitar and Double Bass as his main instruments. He is a diverse musician, with a passion for performing live and composing orchestral suites and concertos. He has performed with various bands and artists in South Yorkshire, covering styles such as Jazz, Pop, Soul, Rock and Funk. James also has a 2:1 Honours Degree in Popular Music from the University of Huddersfield and various practical and theoretical certificates in Music.
Jay has had a love of music since the age of 9, with his first instrument being the piano. He gained several musical qualifications and experiences including performing live in Venice in a Jazz and Soul band. He continued his study of music at Stratford upon Avon College and has since graduated with a 2:1 Honours Degree in Popular Music from Huddersfield University in 2009 where he found his love of Percussion and most recently the diverse Cajon.
Simon has been playing guitar since the age of 10 and has a passion for this creative and diverse instrument. He graduated in 2009 with a 2:1 Honours degree in Music from the University of Huddersfield. He has performed and recorded with a variety of musicians ranging from folk to heavy metal around the South Yorkshire circuit. He developed his passion for Jazz music while he was studying for his degree.
