David George-series creator-- a musician and sometime Civil War buff from San Antonio, Texas is the creative force behind
A Sobbing of the Strong
. What started as a schoolboys casual read of Jim Bishop's
The Day Lincoln Was Shot
has developed into a lifelong fascination of all things assassination related. "I've always thought this particular story to be not only the greatest from the Civil War, but arguably, all of American history. There is always more to learn about it so it never gets old." Began in 2004 as slide collection of ten slides and with a library of one book, A Sobbing of the Strong has grown into both a fulltime research project as well as an Americana music sountrack and video series. "Although I'm not a researcher or historian I feel its inportant to really know the story well so that one book library is now a respectable collection of more than 60 books and notebooks full of articles on the assassiantion. I wanted to go to graduate school and get an advanced degree but decided to take on this project instead. I always joke that this project is my Phd is something."
David George
Production of the film itself began in Jan of 2009 and as they say, "continues".
