Dimension4 (D4) is a Small Business Entity, developing solid state atomic clocks. The company intends to deliver the first solid state atomic clock on Silicon chip to the market. D4s proprietary solid state atomic clocks technology will effectively replace the crystal oscillator technology used in the telecom, GPS and other markets, today. D4's solid state atomic clocks are characterized by a relatively high long term frequency stability and high frequency accuracy, low cost, millimeter size, micro-power,and solid sate durability. D4 intends to bring the numerous advantages of solid state technology into the timekeeping market, which is based solely on gas atomic clocks, or quartz crystals oscillators. D4s long term goal is to replace the TCXO and OCXO in the $2 billion high end crystal oscillators market.The D4 solution will serve the next generation of FemtoCells, GPS, cellular, mobile TV, IPTV, telecom equipment, military radio and other applications which require a high level of clockaccuracy.D4 was founded by Dr. Lahav Gan in 2009, Dr. Gan holds a Ph.D. in physics and an MBA from the Technion- The Israel Institute of Technology, and has extensive experience with several R&D positions in the Israeli Hi-Tech industry. In its current status, the company is in the technology feasibilitystage.D4 was awarded third place in the Biztec Business competition.D4 was awarded the first place in the regional section and sixth place in Europe in the EuropeanSatellite Navigation Competition 2009.

Dimension4 develops a proprietary solid-state atomic clock-on-chip which is characterized byhigh frequency accuracy and long term frequency stability, low power consumption, low price,miniature size, solid-state durability, and improved G-shock immunity compared to high end crystaloscillators (TCXO & OCXO). The product is designed in advance to be fabricated by conventional CMOS process. D4 intends to sell its products as a discrete electronic component to OEM GPS manufacturers, FemtoCell, Telecom equipment etc. In the long term, D4 intends to sale a SoC solution to semiconductors companies.

Manufacturing

Manufacturing and mass production were the guidelines in D4s atomic clock design. Our main missionis to develop a product which has simple fabrication methodology:Conventional CMOS fabrication process.Silicon as the substrate material.Electronic circuit, photo detector, and light source on chip.Spin coating of the resonator material (nano powder in a solvent).Commonly used electronic circuitry building blocks.The vision of D4s product is to slash its price by large volume manufacturing and mass productionwhich can achieve only by semiconductor manufacturing process. It is important to clarify that theinnovative part of D4s technology is within the solid state material.

D4's proprietary clock technology is a leap in the high-end oscillators technology. For the first time. D4 with its solid state atomic clock technology has the ability to improve the frequency accuracy in at least an order of magnitude with respect to high end crystal oscillators. As opposed to gaseous atomic clocks, the size, power and price will still be among the smallest in the crystal oscillators market. D4s atomic clock uses a solid state material instead of gas, as in a conventional atomic clock, to acquire a highly accurate clock signal. D4s solid state resonance material which is in the heart of the atomic clock and the specific quantum system within it are both well known in the scientific literature. It was deeply studied and resolved not only in terms of its physical system, but also for industrial use in terms of its stability, reproducibility, durability etc. Today, D4s technology is the only technology which can offer, in its roadmap, to integrate a highly accurate clock (10-7 -10-8) as part of SoC (System on Chip) solution.
