Cristina Francov, March 1989. Aguascalientes, Mexico. Being the youngest in a family where expression through drawings and music has been inherent and quite characteristic; she learns to develop her visual concerns independently, while cultivating the exquisit art of playing in solitude, making this experience a milestone for her late formal and essential creative technique. She attends two different courses of oil painting: the first from 1996 to 1997 and the second from 2002 to 2003 and those lessons would be her only plastic training to date.At the age of 15, with a borrowed camera and using discarded images where she had participated as a model, produces simple images intervened digitally, focused on her fascination with onirical experiences, metaphoric women in nature, hometown traditional legends, eastern mysticism and western esotericism. Rapt with that technique, works towards the most incipient trunk of her work developing automatic photography, drawing and painting based on a body-mind principle (the matter that pervades the spirit), whose paradoxically dark meaning was elusive to the concept of goodness/evil and sought the spontaneous expression previously inhibited by human coexistence.In early 2009, returns to her frequent creative approach with a new aesthetic and practical configuration, without forsaking her desired topics and unconscious/oniric triggerings, letting three of her greatest interests to be gradual, transcendental and naturally leaked: History, Philosophy and Occultism; opening a cohesive quality with a touch of ironic, dramatic and ethereal humor that allows some of her works be related to several things and nothing at the time, forming parallel dialogues between the intelligible and the unconsciousness, between the living and the nonliving. She later attaches different traditional techniques, unraveling a vital form of mental training and creative flow, along with a correction referring to technical/moral canons which she had learned though out her self-taught career.
