Please browse through our site and contact us with any questions.
2012 Dues Notice
Annual dues are payable on Jan. 1 of
each year. A $10 late fee will be charged if dues are not paid by March 1, 2012. Please see your latest St. Aindrea newsletter for the dues form to fill out and mail.
MEMBERSHIP Membership to the St. Andrew's Society of Atlanta is possible to people of direct Scottish ancestry. Meetings and events are held throughout the year in various parts of town. At our business meetings and events, we encourage and welcome traditional Scottish dress and often partake in Scottish dance, music and literature. The society is always looking for new members and we welcome you to visit us at a meeting or event.
To be eligable for membership, a candidate must be sponsored by a current member of the society, attend three functions within a twelve-month period, and have their name published at least twice in the newsletter prior to election. Both prospective members and their sponsors much be present at the Business Meeting to be voted upon. It is the sponsor's responsibility to track prospective members' progress and inform them of events.
Should you already know someone who is a member then please approach them as to becoming your sponsors. That is the easiest way. They should then take it from there inviting you to the various events/meetings.
If you are new in town and know no-one in the society please feel free to contact the corresponding secretary suggesting the meetings/events you would be interested in attending. She/he will then give you the pertinent details. Should you attend the event then there will be ample opportunity for you to meet members of your clan or other people with whom you can bond. That is then the time for you to ask if they will be your sponsors.
Please take a look at our calendar of events and other pages of this site to gain more information about our society. If you are interested in joining the St. Andrew's Society of Atlanta, please email us your name and phone number and we'll contact you right away. You may also contact Elly Groover for more information on membership or to request an application.

MESSAGES President's Message
Present & Past Officers
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Thank you to everyone who made St. Andrew's Christmas party a huge success. I am so sorry I missed it. Shona Schmidt and her helpers have made memories for all the children who attended this years St. Andrews Christmas party, and of course you too,
Santa, Mrs. Claus, and elves. I know I have left out many thank yous but you know who you are. THANK YOU ALL!!
I have wonderful memories of Christmas back in Scotland. I even
remember a royal blue velvet dress with a white lace collar and
Santa calling my name. As I walked on stage for my present, I
thought I was so special! SANTA knew my name!!
I have a few passions and my Scottish Heritage is one of them. I
am truly honoured to be President of this Society. Having been a
member since 1973 it has a special place in my heart. We need to
grow and attract more young people. With everyone helping we
can all work on this. If you know of anyone who is interested in
their Scottish Heritage, invite them along to our Society. Some are
just waiting for an invitation!! Let them know how much fun and
fellowship we have.
We start our year January 1, 2012, with our Hogmanay (read more
on that from Greg). Remember to make plans to join us! And look
for details inside this issue regarding Hogmanay, the Burn's Night
dinner with our honored guest and speaker this year, and the
Kirkin' o' the Tartans. They all take place in January.
Remember to keep our troops in your thoughts
and prayers during the holidays and beyond.
If you had trod a different path,
Life sweeter might have been,
And riches might have come your way
With every day serene,
Dream not of yesterday, I say,
But make the utmost of today.
Life is like a mist, rolling down thru the Glens
To all PEACE,
Rosina Grey
