The Honors | Council Fire Pro-Am was started in the early nineties to support the Tennessee Golf Foundation and junior golf programs within the Chattanooga region. In 2000, The First Tee of Chattanooga started receiving half of the event's net proceeds. Over its 20-year history, over $800,000 has been raised to support the TGF and The First Tee of Chattanooga. Thanks to the support of our players, sponsors and the leadership shown by our host professionals and facilities, the Pro-Am's success has had a positive impact on the game statewide, especially with young people.
Since 1995, the TGF has seen strong growth and activity around its middle Tennessee-based headquarters. In 2005, the foundation's board of directors authorized the TGF's use of regional directors to bolster existing and new golf activities to create a “Golf House Tennessee” atmosphere in the other four major population centers of Tennessee (Tri-Cities, Memphis, Chattanooga and Knoxville.) In 2012, the final TGF regional director was placed in the Chattanooga region (Dori Paschall) and it is her responsibility to promote the game, work with Golf House Tennessee's three allied associations (TGA, TPGA and TGF) and building relationships with important local and regional programs like The First Tee of Chattanooga.
