Blue Ridge Christian Church ~ a people who love Jesus Christ, are waiting for his return and will worship Him until He comes again.
We are a non-denominational,
Christian church of South
Asheville who welcomes you!
Blue Ridge Christian Church heralds the greatness of Jesus Christ and the need for all to come to him as Lord and Savior. We are also committed to instructing God's people in the word of God. Each time we meet, we carefully examine and apply God's word to our lives so that we can know Him better and live as he would have us to live.
We are affiliated with a fellowship of churches known as the independent Christian Church. Our historical roots trace back to the early 19th century in a religious movement that came to be known as the Restoration Movement. The primary focus of the movement was a call for Christian unity. Since then, great stress has been put on the authority of the word of God, preaching and teaching of it and the atoning sacrifice of Christ for sin that brings salvation. We are nondenominational. While we are not the only Christians, our desire is to be known as 'Christians' only.
We welcome all to join us in worship. Come as you are! Whether casual or dressing informally, be yourself and join a wonderful time of meeting and worshiping Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world!

Ryland is married to Deborah with a daughter, Madelynn. As as a student of the Word, Ryland loves to preach and teach God's word.
We believe the teaching of God's word is vital to knowing God and being like Him. We are so convinced of this that we begin this instruction at the age of children and into the adult years.
We have classes for toddlers and pre-schoolers, an elementary grade class, a pre-teen class and a Junior High/Senior High class. We also have two adult classes.
(See Meetings - This Week for the
latest adult classes being offered).
This is a wonderful time of praising God through singing, remembering his great love for us through celebrating the Lord's Supper, and listening to a message through God's holy word.
You will find this time where we meet with God a worshipful time, an encouraging time yet and instructive time as we learn each week more about who God is and how he wants us to live!
The first church 2.000 years ago so thoroughly enjoyed the Lord that they didn't want to limit it to one day. Neither do we at Blue Ridge Christian Church.
We invite all to bring a pot luck dish and enjoy all the surprises that various dishes offer. This is a great time to not only enjoy food, but each other!
After the meal, we have a time of study in God's word. It is typically a series of studies from the Bible and begins right after the meal, about 6:30 to 6:45.

Of the Bible :
We believe that the Holy Bible as originally written was word-for-word "God-breathed" and is the only infallible rule for all human conduct.
Of God :
We believe that there is only one living and true God of three distinct persons - the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Of the Son of God:
We believe in the absolute Deity of the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, co-equal with the Father and the Spirit yet fully man.
Of Salvation :
We believe each person should repent of sin by putting his or her faith in Jesus Christ who died to take away sin. Those accepting Jesus as savior should believe, repent, confess and be baptized.
Of the Church:
We believe that the church is a New Testament institution, being a congregation of baptized believers.
The Holy Spirit:
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a Divine Person, equal with the Father and Son who convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment.
Of Spiritual Gifts:
We believe that spiritual gifts from the Spirit of God are given to edify the church but that speaking in tongues, interpretation of tongues, divine healings, etc. have ceased to be gifts today.
What Blue Ridge Christian Church believes from God's word we consider extremely valuable. The following are what we hold to dearly :
Of the Bible:
We believe that the Holy Bible as originally written was word-for-word "God-breathed" and the product of Spirit-controlled men. Therefore it is truth, free of error and the only infallible rule for all human conduct, creeds and opinions. (II Timothy 3:16, 17;)
Of God:
We believe that there is only one living and true God that is infinite in every attribute of His person consisting of three distinct persons - the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit - one in essence yet equal in every divine perfection. God is absolutely perfect in love, justice, holiness, power, knowledge and wisdom, and the Creator of all. He is eternal in His existence, has always been and will forever be (Deuteronomy 6:4; I Corinthians 8:6; Ephesians 4:4, 5; Psalm 93:2)
Of Salvation:
We believe that the only escape from the condem-nation of sin in every individual is through the redemption worked by sinless Jesus Christ. By His suffering, death, and resurrection, he made full satisfaction to the justice of God, being a voluntary substitution for the sin of man. Those accepting Christ should repent, confess their faith and be baptized (immersed) into Him. (Acts 2:38; John 3:1-7; Acts 16:30-33; Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 3:24-25,;10:9-13; II Corinthians 5:21; Titus 3:5-7)
We believe that the church is a New Testament institution, by Jesus Christ on the day of Pentecost. He is the sole head of the church and it is for worship and service and for His glory. ( I Corinthians 12:12-28; Ephesians 1:22, 23; 3:21; 5:23-33; Colossians 1:18)
We believe that the Church is manifest through the local church, a congregation of baptized believers, associated by covenant of faith and fellowship of the gospel. The church's officers are elders and deacons and the church has the absolute right to self-government directed by the Holy Spirit, being answerable only to Christ. In all matters of membership, policy, government, discipline and benevolence the will of the local church is final. (I Corinthians 7:7-17, 11:16; I Timothy 3:1-5)
We believe in the absolute Deity of the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ . He is the very God of very God, existing from all eternity co-equal with the Father and the Spirit . He was miraculously begotten of the Holy Spirit though born of the Virgin Mary. Today, he is enthroned in heaven, making intercession for the believers (John 1:1-2)
Of the Holy Spirit:
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a Divine Person, equal with the Father and Son and of the same essence and nature. We also believe that He convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment, bears witness to the truth, is the agent of the new birth and that He seals, endues, guides, teaches, witnesses to, sanctifies, and intercedes for the believer. (Romans 8:14-27)
Of the Resurrection of the Dead:
We believe in the resurrection of the bodies of the dead, some to eternal life and others to shame and everlasting contempt. We also believe that believers who sleep in Jesus will be raised at the coming of Christ for His Church. Furthermore, the wicked will be raised to stand in their bodies at the Great White Throne Judgment to receive final and official doom.
