Meet Mr. Ehler
Mr. Ehler was raised on a farm near Champaign. He went to college with his brothers at Southern Illinois University. Following his time at SIU, he joined the U.S. Air Force as a Surgical Scrub Nurse. He worked in the base hospital at Chanute AFB, IL at Rantoul during his time in service. Check out his re-enlistment photo in the back of the room.
After his Air Force active duty tour, Mr. Ehler moved to Chicago where he entered the steel business and worked for industry leaders learning how to process flat rolled steel into many consumer products. Some of the activities he managed were Wage Incentives, slitting, levelling, shearing, blanking, roller coating, press braking, roll forming and perforating. At the same time Mr. Ehler earned his degree in Accounting by attending Roosevelt University in downtown Chicago near the Buckingham Fountain.
Following 20 years in steel plant operations Mr. Ehler transferred into Data Processing/Information Services where he became a programmer and later worked up to Data Processing Manager. He used this as a stepping stone into Management Consulting involving management reporting, supply chain management, medical insurance claims processing, and mail order pharmacy operations on projects for several world renowned companies.
After the last of his children graduated from college, Mr. Ehler returned to school at Roosevelt University and earned his Masters in Education and soon came to Eisenhower High School as a Business Education instructor. Do you know what "Summa Cum Laude" means? Two of his children are high school English teachers in inner city schools, one in Chicago and one in Baltimore and another works as a sociologist/psychologist therapist for troubled youths.
Mr. Ehler's hobby is restoring antique tractors. He especially likes propane powered Minneapolis-Moline tractors, but this Spring he bought another John Deere tractor to restore. He takes several tractors to the Antique Tractor Show in Penfield, IL each July. Check 'em out. There are pictures of each of his tractors in the back of the room.
Mr. Ehler's 5th grandchild, a boy, was born on his birthday in September. Check out pictures of all his grandchildren, too.

5. When others are presenting, we are to be respectful of their efforts and not make noise or distract them or interfere with others trying to listen to them or to learn from them.
6. Making up missed assignments, quizzes, or exams is the COMPLETE responsibility of the STUDENT. The student must coordinate with Mr. Ehler to arrange for a time and place to make up the work. It is not Mr. Ehler's responsibility to chase after missing work.

Mr. Ehler expects that you will come to class every day; that you will bring a pen or pencil, paper, and your book with you every day; and, be prepared to participate in class. Further, Mr. Ehler believes it is critical that every Business student be able to read well, write comfortably, and do basic arithmetic operations, so he will lead the class in doing activities connected with the "3 R's" every day. These activities will help you do well on the NCLB exams in the Spring.
If for any reason you find that will not be able to attend class, it is your responsibility to determine what you missed while you were gone by checking the grade sheets posted in the back of the room, get with Mr. Ehler to pick up the missing assignments, and get those made up as soon as you can.
