Coach Smith grew up on a small family farm in Troy, Texas. Immediately after his high school graduation, Jarrod was elected State FFA 1st Vice President and began a year of service in which he would visit 475 high schools and speak to thousands of students across the nation.
After graduating from Texas A&M University, Jarrod began his career in athletics as an administrator at Oklahoma State University, where he assisted in raising over one hundred million dollars to support student-athlete scholarships and facility improvements. Jarrod currently serves as a teacher and coach at C.H. Yoe High School in Cameron, Texas where he resides with his wife Katy and children Emma and Owen.
