ASSISTED LIVING CAREGIVER/MANAGER
(Available in Arizona Only)
Assisted Living Caregiver $199
This is the fist skill level of caregiver training, and builds the foundation for future caregiver learning. The primary focus at the supervisory level is to prepare students for the general supervision of their residents. Other areas of learning and emphasis include the ability to monitor, and be aware of resident functioning and continuing needs, the ability to intervene in the event of a crisis, and the assistance in the self-administration of prescription drugs.
Personal care is the second skill level in caregiver training. At this level the caregiver is expected to have the ability to assist residents with their activities of daily living (ADL'S) such as bathing and dressing. A trained caregiver at his skill level should have the ability to coordinate with nursing services, as well as oversee medication and treatments provided by a nurse who licensed by and under the provisons of the Arizona Revised Statutes, Nursing Board, or as otherwise provided by law.
Directed care is the final skill level in caregiver certification, but by no means is this the end of your caregiver training. In reality, once you have been certified at this level you have just begun your training as a caregiver. At the Directed care skill level caregivers are expected to have the ability to provide services or programs to residents who are incapable of recognizing danger, summoning assistance, expressing need or making basic care decisions.
