Year 3 - Semester 1
For our Semester One Project, we decided to create a game that would explore the realism used in video games. Most modern games boast about realistic graphcis and physics but why never about realistic aspects such as eating and sleeping.
As we developed our game, our initial idea slowly changed from exploring realism to being able to make a game out of anything. Games are filled with outragous ideas, but when is does it go to far, when does it stop being fun for the player. We wanted to push the limits to see when does a video game stops being fun and starts being boring and tedious to play.

Year 3 - Semester 2
For this Studio project we would develop our own online persistant game called 'The World of Voxels'. We would use this game to try and explore how social interactions worked between players in a video games with other players and how they would collaborate with each other to enhance the gaming experience. With numerous players joining our game, would players act different when playing face to face compared to over a network where their identities are a secret. Would a pair of players on a local computer prefer to work together by themselves, or would they instead prefer to join a bigger online group of other players. Would the game end up as many pairs of players playing separately to one-another, or would they people prefer to collaborate and work together towards a higher goal.

AboutFrom the traditional pen and paper to modern digital art in maya and photoshop ,Thomas has been interested in many forms of art since the day he could hold a pencil. A true gamer at heart, Thomas has studied at the Bachlour of Creative technologies at Auckland University of technologiesis and is always striving to improve his 3D modelling a.nd design skillsPast Experiences include: - Working on iPhone games for the New Zealand based company called Starkiwi, where he helped to create and develop the 3D models for their first game, Space Hawk'.
