In our search to reduce costs here at Clayton & Frickley farms in 2009, we decided to go down the direct drill route using a 4m Claydon SR direct drill which allows us to establish our Winter Wheat, Barley, Rape seed, & Beans e.t.c. in a one pass operation direct into stubble resulting in very large savings in diesel, time and machinery costs.

Due to our success using the Claydon drill we have now added in 2011 an 8m Claydon stubble rake and a full Trimble auto-steer system receiving RTK correction signals resulting in sub 1 inch pass to pass accuracy enableing us to use the same tramlines year on year with an aim to further reduce compaction & improve our soils structure.
