Heartland Cat Rescue is a non-profit organization operated solely by volunteers. We receive no city, state or federal aid. We are supported by public donations only.
Our mission is to find permanent, loving homes for the kittens and cats that we rescue. If any are unadoptable, we provide a loving home for the lifetime of the cat.
We take every opportunity to educate the public about the importance of Spaying & Neutering and the tragic consequences of irresponsible pet ownership.
All funds received or donated are used ONLY for the maintenance and benefit of the rescued cats & kittens.
At our own expense, every adult cat that is rescued by us and put up for adoption is tested for Feline Leukemia, Feline Aids virus. Adult cats and kittens are vaccinated against the following diseases: Feline Viral Rhinotrachitis, Calici Virus, Chlamydia, Panleukopenia (Feline Distemper), Feline Leukemia and Rabies. They are also wormed upon arrival and checked for fleas, ticks and ear mites and treated accordingly. All cats and kittens have Advantage Flea treatment applied. Adult cats are spayed and neutered and kittens are spayed and neutered at 6 months of age.
WE CURRENTLY ARE NOT ACCEPTING ANY MORE KITTY'S UNTIL SPOTS OPEN UP, OR MORE DONTATIONS ARE RECEIVED, PLEASE CONSIDER DONATING!!!!

Volunteers(feeding cat colonies):
Sonny and Arrista
Heartland Cat Rescue volunteers Arrista & Sonny, take care of the stray cat colonies in Sebring. They feed the cats every day, rain or shine (even during hurricanes); check the shelter huts made for them; check for injured or ill cats, and rescue the cats whenever possible.
CEO Susan has opened her heart and home to the many strays that need Foster Care in our town and county.
The combined work of ALL those involved have made a better life for many abandoned cats and kittens here. Their dedication to this cause has been a tremendous group effort, and it is working!
Thanks to all of you!
We are located in Sebring , Florida, which is often called the Heartland of Florida. We are in the middle of the state, just two hours from each coast, and about an hour and forty-minutes south of Orlando.
This 10-12 week old baby was thrown out of a pickup truck window May 11,2006. This little boy's front teeth were knocked out and he also sustained facial injury. It is unknown whether these injuries occured before or after the kitten was thrown out of the moving vehicle. Lucky for this little guy that a good samaritan stopped and picked him up after witnessing this horrible crime. After he was taken to the veterinarian for medical care he was rescued by Heartland Cat Rescue & Adoption Society, Inc. He is currently on a soft diet until his adult teeth grow in. Despite his cruel beginning, he is quite the lover boy and will make a wonderful companion to the right person after his injuries heal.
