PIOTR PAKHOMKIN

Piotr Pakhomkin (guitarist) is a Russian-American born in St. Petersburg into a family of artists. Collecting an impressive list of professional accomplishments at home and abroad, including performances in such venues as the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and the Dweck Center of Contemporary Culture in New York, Mr. Pakhomkin is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after concert guitarists of his generation. In 2011, he was invited by the Guitar Association of Panama to perform recitals at Panama City’s historic National Theater and lead several master classes as part of the nation’s VIII International Guitar Festival. He also made his presence known on the competition circuit, winning 1st prize at the Great Lakes Guitar Competition as well as 2nd prize at the Montreal International Guitar Competition.
Mr. Pakhomkin received his undergraduate and graduate degrees at the Peabody Institute in Baltimore, in the studio of Maestro Manuel Barrueco. He performs exclusively on a custom-made 2010 Ross Gutmeier cedar top guitar.
Piotr teaches privately in his studio in Georgetown, N.W. D.C. on 31st Street.
