WHY choose Clark Prather Photography
Clark Prather Photography has over 11 years of photography experience and 9 years of photography class instruction to pull from. Today in a world filled with poor customer service and wrong answers from so called "experts" I strive to ensure that you understand the material being taught.
Many professional photographers today overprice and under deliver. Clark Prather Photography promises to deliver top quality work at an affordable price.
I am a born Hoosier who took a small detour to Texas on the way to following my dreams and ambitions here in Portland, OR.
With over a decade in retail and customer service I have come to the realization that the only way I will be satisfied with who I am is by loving what I do. Thus this site, as I have realized there are many people out there who have no idea how to properly use their camera and handle digital images.
Along with teaching people about photography I feel it is important to have an avenue to express my work and offer my services as a professional photographer in the process.
Planned Courses
$100 per 2 hour course
Personal Photography Classes
We offer various photography classes to suit the needs of the novice who isn't sure where the memory card goes all the way to the advanced.
The great thing about teaching individual photography classes is being able to tailor the curriculum to a particular need, camera and learning style.
I offer three pre-planned courses at the moment and hope to expand to more in the near future. All classes are held at your home and last approximately 2 hours. Be sure to have your camera fully charged and a pen handy. Each pre-planned course comes with a handy study guide/cheat sheet.
There is a limit of 4 people per class. If you would like to include more people there is a standard $25 per person charge. Have a big group? I'm sure we can work something out!
Digital Photography 101
This class is ideal for the beginner photographer. Covering the basics of digital imaging and image management as well as some basic camera techniques.
Digital Photography 201
This class is geared towards the more advanced and experienced photographer. Be sure that your camera is fully charged because we will be covering lots of manual functions and the keys to proper exposure.
Digital Photography 102
This class is geared completely towards YOUR camera's operation and basic photographic composition. A great class to take if you are looking to take better pictures.
I also offer customized classes that can be tailored to a specific topic that you would like to learn more about. As these classes take some time to prepare I do charge a $50 setup fee in addition to the standard $100 per hour rate. Please contact me for more information if you are interested.

Whether you are getting married, graduating, going to prom, hosting an event, throwing a reunion of friends or classmates or trying to sell something, I can help! Having started with photography as a kid with a 110 camera and a brick flash and eventually working up to being in the business, I've documented everything from a wedding to a golf tournament with quality images.
So how much does this cost? Well, as you could imagine this can be a very complicated topic. I would encourage you to contact me via the contact tab above with a description of what kind of photographs you need as well as what you plan on doing with the finished images. If I need any additional info I will ask and work with you in determining a fair price for the quality and volume of work you desire.
