My Story
First, I am a servant of Jesus Christ, and am blessed to be called to serve women and their families as God brings forth new life. Secondly, I am a happily married mother of two precious little ones. I had two very different, but both very satisfying birth experiences. My daughter was born in 2006 at the hospital with an epidural. My son was born in 2009 completely unmedicated at home.
I began pursuing my doula certification in Januray of 2008, and in March became a Lamaze Labor Support Specialist. I earned my birth doula certification through DONA, International in November of 2009.
My Philosophy
I believe that, by God's design, pregnancy and childbirth are normal, healthy functions of a woman's body. Under normal circumstances, for women who are low-risk, birth can be achieved with minimal intervention. I firmly believe that each woman should have the right to choose how and where she would like to give birth, and am committed to supporting her and her family's wishes above anyone else's, including my own. My utmost priority is helping you have the birth God has called you to have.
Doula Services
1-2 Prenatal visits to get acquainted, create a unique birth plan,
and practice comfort measures.
Unlimited phone, text, and e-mail access to discuss questions
or concerns regarding pregnancy, birth, and baby care.
Access to my extensive lending library and resource list.
On-call 24-hours a day for the four weeks surrounding your due
date.
Continuous physical, emotional, and informational support at
the location of your choice as soon as you request me, until
1-2 hours postpartum.
Help establishing breastfeeding.
A postpartum visit in your home 1-2 weeks after your birth to go
over your birth and answer any questions you may have.
A personalized keepsake birth story written to your baby.
$150 due upon hiring
$200 due by 37 weeks gestation
