Idea behind Mot à Mot

"I have recently helped author Kim Thompson, aka Sunnie Day, to make one of her books ready to publish on Smashords.com. This gave me the idea to offer my services on a larger scale of independent authors. For a reasonable fee - that has to be agreed on prior any work - I will edit the layout of my clients' manuscript.The French "Mot à Mot" literally means "word for word" and was meant for an earlier project that I decided not to implement due to a potential lack of demand. I liked the ring to it, so I kept the name.I am an Indie Author, which means that I do everything myself. Originally, it all started because I could not afford to hire an editor; now, it has become a habit, which I fairly enjoy. The book industry is changing. A few years ago, making a book available in a digital form meant to have it downloadable as a PDF document. A heavy, yet cheap solution but ultimately tiring for the eyes since the reader would have to be in front of a computer screen.Today, with the development of eBook readers like the Sony Reader, Kindle, Nook, iPad and probably many others, the eBook is not only a cheap solution (after investing in an eBook reader), it is also an ecological choice.Another good thing coming with this new technology concerns Indie authors. Terms & Conditions

1. Mandatory estimate

All customers need to contact me and request an estimate. Mot à Mot | layout-edit will not work on a task before the need of the customer is thoroughly discussed, the price and facility of payment agreed upon or a deadline set.

2. Prices

The prices on this website are there for information only. Mot à Mot | layout-edit will use them as a reference to adjust the estimate. For instance: the price for an eBook layout with up to 150 pages is 44.90 €; if the customer's book contains 100 pages, the price will slightly decrease.

3. Payment

20% of the total amount when the customer confirms the order. The rest of the amount is to be paid when the customer receives the invoice. It is possible to split the amount in 2 monthly payments - which has to be agreed upon prior the execution of the order.

The customer has the possibility to pay via PAYPAL or - if he / she is in Europe - via IBAN. This can be agreed upon when the payment is required. Note however that Mot à Mot | layout-edit prefers the IBAN payment whenever it is possible.

4. Secrecy

Any manuscript entrusted to Mot à Mot | layout-edit will never be used in any way other than satisfy the customer. The customer's name and details will no be communicated without the express consent of the party.

5. Changes

This terms & conditions may change at any time and at the discretion of Mot à Mot | layout-edit.
