About
ABOUT ME
My name is Cinnamon Willis and I am a graphic designer by trade. I always had an interest in painting, drawing and other areas of art but sculpting is fairly new for me. I took various art classes in Brooklyn college as a child whenever they were open to all ages and I went to New York college of Technology for my Design degree later on in life. Melandollys are a series of dolls that I created after seeing a doll online that looked very sad. I found it to be odd since we are normally see dolls that are either smiling or with a very pleasant look on their faces. I found it to be more realistic. It inspired me to create my own series of dolls that were depressed and a bit tragic. I made each one of them with similar but slightly different expressions. The one thing that I wanted to capture in all of the dolls was the sadness in their eyes. They each have their own sad stories that lets you know a little more about their misfortuneate experiences. They are made out of polymer clay and they are all handmade without the use of any molds.
