Relating to the Book Relating to the Book
The book does not realatively talk about the war it talks about how they want to build the V2 rockets so they can beat the russians to space. Mr. Gordon who is one of the main characters of the book works for general elcectric which is working on V2 rockets. They are actually making weapons but they say that they are going to space.
Mrs. Gordon another main character in the books thinks they should stop working on the rockets and is working on stopping atomic bombs. Mr. Gordon have a daughter named Suze and a young girl the same age as Suze and her name is Dewey. They are really smart and talented young ladies and they have a sore subject with the bomb because Suze's father is always gone working on the rockets. Dewey becomes closer to Suze's mom because Dewey is really into science and technical stuff. This also hurts Suze because she feels that she is not only loosing her father but her mother to.
