My name is Chris Deaver, I am the owner of Blackhawk Taxidermy in Fox Lake, WI. I have been doing taxidermy for seven years out of my home. It started out as a hobby, but I have decided this is what I want to do for a living. I have always enjoyed the outdoors. I remember when I was a child, I would go hunting and fishing with my dad. Those are some fond memories that I now enjoy with my own children. My family loves being outside, we do a lot of camping each year. We go ice fishing and hunting. Michelle, my oldest daughter, has been hunting since she was 5. She has a very good sense for hunting. Her first buck was a 9 pointer, which is the buck on the left in the picture to the right. Breanna shot a bear when she was 10, it was the first bear ever shot in our family. Michelle also shot a bear later the same day. Both girls are getting full bear mounts. I do not do my own tanning, they are all sent out to a tannery in Oklahoma. They are wet tanned and will last forever. I provide professional service in a quality life-like mount.
