is John of God
For more than three decades Joao Teixeira de Faria has had extraordinary success in helping people to heal from AIDS, cancer, paralysis, blindness, mental disease and a host of human infirmities. Millions of people have consulted with Joao-in-Entity since 1965. Up to 3,000 people per day stand and wait in line to see him individually. He continues to have a success rate in his healing work unheard of in western medicine.
This simple Brazilian man, formally educated only through the second grade, is living proof of a unique form of mediumship in which benevolent spirits, aka disembodied entities or angels, use his body to perform seemingly miraculous healing, including both physical and psychic surgery. When João is acting as a host (to one spirit at a time) he is called 'the Entity', and referred to, more formally as Joao de Deus (John of God). His intent is to be a vehicle for God's work. He has kept to this intention despite being persecuted and physically abused by those who do not want him to practice his unique way of healing without a medical license.
Joao discovered his gift naturally when he was only sixteen years old. Right from the beginning, he made the commitment to use what he had been given to serve mankind. His ability to access his gift is amazing - within seconds he can choose to dis-identify with his body and allow a spirit to use it, then re-identify with his body when the work of the spirit is complete.

He is an 'unconscious medium' because he has no memory of what he does as the Entity.
More than thirty entities, now residing on the spiritual plane, each with his/her own identifiable characteristic personality traits and technical skills derived from former lives as healers, incorporate within Joao. Joao-in-Entity diagnoses, offers treatment protocols, confers sedation and operates, prescribes specific alternative therapies, and sometimes offers prognoses.
While the Entity consults with individuals who often wait in line for hours to see him, other entities, not incorporated, simultaneously provide healings within the assembled group. In this way, the entities' healing extends to thousands of people a day. Seemingly undaunted by all the attention he gets, João humbly says to the assembled people, "It is not me, but God who heals". Neither Joao nor the Entity ask for any fees for services rendered.

At 25 Chip learned from his doctor that he would not live to see his 30th birthday. Despite this prognosis, Chip resolved to look his illness straight in the eye and attempt to understand from where it had come and why it had appeared. Having made this resolution, the Universe itself held his hand and led him through a labyrinth of self-discovery. Through meditation, healthy diet, assiduous dream journaling, and many years of profound self-examination, Chip managed his illness for more than two decades. Finally, at 45, following a golden thread of synchronicity, Chip learned about John of God and made his first trip to the Casa in 2006. There the Entity Saint Francis Xavier looked Chip straight in the eye and told him that his physical condition was the manifestation of a deeper spiritual illness. "You were born with a sad heart," the Entity diagnosed. "It is this sadness in your heart that has produced the appearance of illness, and this is what we must heal. I can help you." Two visits later, after many extraordinary experiences of inner awakening, releasing negative energy, and of deep transformation, Chip awoke from the dream of illness and was healed.
Down-to-Earth, easy-going and knowledgeable, Chip speaks English and Portuguese. Most guests depart from their home city on Sunday, arriving in either Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro on Monday morning. They then catch a connecting 1.5 hour flight to Brasilia. Chip will meet you at the airport in Brasilia. There are now, however, direct flights to Brasilia from Atlanta on Delta Airlines, from Miami on TAM Airlines, and on American Airlines and from Lisbon on TAP Air Portugal.
