Old forgotton treasures are lovingly reworked into unique individual headdresses, combs, clips and fascinators. We love the creamy tones, the soft lustre of vintage faux pearls and the gentle sparkle of old diamante and paste stones. Our collection is deliberately eclectic, reflecting the individuality of the original treasures.
Vintage loving brides will love the Cherished look, Delicate, Whimsical and Unashamedly Pretty !

Our Story Cherished is what happens when two creative friends, one an experienced headdress maker and the other a Cambridge-educated historian of modern Britain, throw caution to the wind and decide to start a business together.
With both of us happily settled with our husbands and young families in rural West Sussex countryside, the time seemed right to let our creative interests come to the fore and to put them to good use. For Abby, starting Cherished was about giving prominence to her love of crafting and marrying it with her passion for early-twentieth century culture and design. For me, it was about taking my long experience in headdress design and sales forward into a new and more satisfying direction. We both love the 'upcycling' that a Cherished headpiece entails. Many of the original pieces we use have lain forgotten in jewellery boxes for years; some are brooches with missing pins, some necklaces with broken clasps or strings, others are single earrings unable to be used for their original purpose. All deserve being brought into the limelight again, beginning a new chapter in their decorative history. [We love the warm lustre of old faux pearls, the soft sparkle of antique paste stones, the vibrancy of mid-century rhinestones, and we want them to be enjoyed by fresh eyes.] This sensitivity to the enduring beauty of vintage pieces is what Cherished is all about.
Both of us are in our element perusing antique shops and vintage markets for unusual pieces of jewellery, haberdashery and millinery decoration, and equally happy when putting them together into new, and beautiful hair ornaments. Abby and I take enormous pride in our craft. Each headpiece is designed, wired and ribboned with tremendous skill and love; our attention to detail is second to none.
We are also lucky enough to be mums to our 5 wonderful children. Between us we have four gorgeous girls and one little man -the sole boy of the bunch delightfully unaffected the fanciful creations that emerge around him!
We hope that you enoy browsing our site and love our Cherished pieces as much as we do,
