About
chc -art founder, Chuck Coffman, was born in 1964 in houston, Texas just in time to catch the end of the 60's from his Big wheel. He sketched & drew his way through the 70's & 80's, soaking up as much Texas R&B, rock 'n' roll and down home groove as he could muster. The big sounds & bold, bright, Tex-Mex infused artwork coming out of 1970's Texas, and the eclectic tastes of a super creative mother, guided Chuck in a direction of visual expression that landed him a B.A. in Radio, TV & Film from the university of houston 1n 1993. promptly moving to l.a., chc-art was born when he saw the need to take his artwork "big" to decorate a bare hollywood apartment. chuck describes his work as abstract psychedelic portraitures and bold brief moments found in humanity, music & nature. chc-art has been shown at the Mark bradford gallery in houston,tx., all about music gallery in austin,tx., and the loft in eagle rock, ca. Chuck has been working in the tv/film industry with production, art & set decoration departments since 1989 and, in 2010, had the opportunity to contribute to three art projects for the upcoming feature film, judy moody and the not-bummer summer. chuck is a member of iatse local 44, c.o.r.v.a and the surfrider foundation, and may be found _ imdb.com
