Special and Particular. ONE TIME ONLY EVENT.
My name is Chazda Albright. I'm an American screenwriter living in Germany and for this May I had planned to fly into New Mexico for the Screenwriting Conference in Santa Fe - which was canceled.
I decided to organize a sort of last minute, from the hip, completely free, guerilla style get together for those who didn't want to just sit home and cry.
The Guerilla Screenwriting Circuit.
May 27 - 31, 2011.
If you missed it, you wouldn't be the only one.
After only the first hour of classes, I got a call overseas. My 4 year old daughter was in the hospital with a lung infection. I delegated what I could and took the first plane home. An irony. A sad and ridiculous happenstance. (Not to worry, she has fully recovered.)
The event is done, but the project has just begun.
We are now in the process of editing the documentary film of what took place in New Mexico. And it was great... even though I wasn't there. Ahem.
Chazda Albright is an American screenwriter (read: writer, painter, designer) who has been living in Germany since 2002. Two of her feature length scripts are represented by Whitt Brantley. Previously to focusing her efforts on filmmaking in 2009, Chazda wrote, edited and published material in the erotica genre, working with over fifty creative writers and artists.
When the Screenwriting Conference in Santa Fe was canceled in its 13th Annual meet, Chazda decided to organize the Guerilla Screenwriting Circuit. For more about Chazda, visit her ePortfolio at Chazda.com or visit her blog at Yen Relish or find her on Facebook or just ask! Click the "contact" tab above. Chazda is the one who will be reading it.

The Circuit runs May 27 - 31, 2011. You will find: writing exercise labs, table reads, classes, a round table discussion and two Q&A Panels, which will all be held at
The Nativo Lodge in Albuquerque, NM.
You can join in for any or all of this itinerary. It's completely free to attend. Food and beverage is up to you.
If you would like to offer tips on proper venues for social events, that would be great because I live in Germany and this gig is in New Mexico!
Special thanks go to Ed Pulsifer, who has saved hours of travel time and gallons of gasoline by providing us with a single, centralized venue for all our classes, labs and panel discussions at the lovely Nativo Lodge. He's enabled more classes and considerably less stress.
Thank you to Ann Lerner of the Albuquerque Film Office, who helped hook me up with the right people around town, showing incredible support of this effort by informing so many thousands of people in the film industry.
Thank you to my dear friend Celeste Bradley, who first provided me with a comfortable place to sleep and space to work while in the country, and then took over so many of my responsibilities when I had to quickly leave the country to take care of my daughter.
Thank you to Sarah Jones, who has always been a great supporter, in-the-know informant, and who jumped right in with her excellent organizational skills when I could not be there.
Thank you to my old heartthrob from high school Cary Brooks, who not only drove me all over New Mexico during the days prior to the Circuit, but who took the filming of the event well under his wing. Thanks also to fellow cinematographers who captured this happening on film: Turtle O'Toole, Seth Iliff, and Joe Allgood.
Thank you to all of those who are pitching in by teaching classes, joining a panel, or leading a writing exercise. This singular, unique event was an important moment for me, and I hope it had a very positive and inspiring impact on all of you.
I still need help! It isn't over! Now the event is done, but the making of our documentary has only just begun.
I've no doubt that many more names will be added here after the Guerilla Screenwriting Circuit: a documentary is complete. Thanks to everyone.
Enormous quantities of footage (though not as much as I would have liked) was shot during the several days of the Guerilla Screenwriting Circuit. I asked for three cinematographers and in the end I think we ended up with seven.
If you have captured part of this event on film and would like to submit it for filming credit in the documentary, please let me know. Contact me through our Facebook Group or email me directly using the Contact Form posted here.
If you have been filmed during or after the Circuit, chances are good that we need your consent to be included in the documentary. Please contact me with that permission if I haven't yet asked you personally. I would also like to have your mailing address so that I can send you my personal, snail mail thanks, so please include that as well.
