Born in 1967 in Caerleon, Wales.
Artistic career begins with the writing of music and poetry for experimental performance. After a brief spell studying graphics at Wrexham School of Art he branches out into design, creating stage visuals and publicity material for the same.
Moves to England and settles in London, working first in costume for the BBC and later as a freelance designer and stylist for PR events and exhibitions.
Begins to explore painting and sculpture as a means of self-expression.
Stages Embryogenesis, the first in a series of eleven independently-produced solo shows held over the next eight years.
Leaves the UK to set up home and studio in Carcassonne, France.
Relocates to Valencia, Spain.
The angst that drives the narrative turmoil of Juvenilia recedes. With an exhibition in Madrid entitled New Order, the theme is brought to a close.
In seeking ways to express a changed emotional and psychological state, Valentin experiments with photography and abstraction and makes a return to writing music & poetry.
Writings composed in his youth at the very start of his career form the basis of his first novel 'Memory Lane Massacre'.
