Children's Choir of Burlington
We're about music and a whole lot more!
What began as an idea has grown into a musical adventure in the Burlington community. Under the musical direction of Dr. Gary Fisher, the Children's Choir of Burlington began in March 2008 and presented a workshop performance in May of that year. In our first full season, our singers demonstrated their love of singing and performing at two sold-out concerts.
In September 2009 we kicked off our 2nd season with multiple choirs - the Senior and Junior Main Choirs for singers in grades 4 through high school age; the Prelude Choir for children in grades 1-3; and a new Piccolo Choir for children ages 3-5.
Singers Wanted: the CCB is eagerly looking for new membership for the winter-spring 2011. The term begins January 11th. Contact Gary Fisher at 905-632-2085 or fisher63_interlog. com for details. Don't wait! Sign up now for a semester of singing and musical adventure.

our choirs and rehearsal schedule.
Are you ready to come and join us? Below you will find information about how to register and the registration form.
Voice Survey
A vocal survey is required for the Concert Choir and/or Boys' Division. There is no survey for either the Prelude or Piccolo Choirs.
During this survey you will be asked to do some vocal exercises to determine skill level, vocal range and ability to pick up melody/harmony, as well as sing a familiar song (like "Oh Canada" or "Amazing Grace"). You do not need to have a piece prepared for the survey. Parents are welcome to accompany children to the survey.
If you are interested in finding out more or setting up a survey, please contact Gary Fisher at fisher63_interlog.com or by calling 905 632 2085.

Past Performances
Public performances have included our own concerts (in December and May each year), and appearances with the Burlington Civic Chorale and their Valentine's Cabaret and Silent Auction. In addition, the CCB have performed at a number of private events in the Burlington community.
We have a number of "in house" family events as well, open only to extended family. These include our Family Nights, Vocal Showcases/Talent Nights, and yearly social events.
Private and Community Performances
The CCB is proud to sing around the Burlington community and are available for bookings. Please note that there is a fee schedule, depending on the type of performance (e.g. charitable), length (e.g. specific time requested or number of pieces), and distance to be travelled. This information can be shared with any interested parties upon request.
Currently the Concert Choir and Prelude Choir are the only groups available for private and community performances.
Are you a music teacher? We're happy to connect with local schools to support music making in the community.

Please consider sharing your time, talents or financial supports!
Time and Talent Support - Are you looking to volunteer?
If you love music and kids, this is the right spot for you. You can volunteer an hour per month or an hour per week – whatever works for your schedule. Musical training is not required for all roles!
Here are some of the possibilities:
* Weekly Choir Rehearsals (singing with kids, marking theory, helping with organization)
* Special Events (including concerts, private functions, fundraisers)
* Fundraising (Do you have ideas? We want to hear them!)
* Administration (organizing music, coordinating notices, bulletin board updates, school outreach)
* Volunteer opportunities are available for responsible students in grades 7 and up
Board of Directors
The Children's Choir of Burlington is looking for new board members with fresh ideas. We would like a few new people to volunteer for board positions. The Board meets approximately 1.5 hours per month. We welcome community members, extended family, or anyone else who may be interested in helping to guide the future of the choir.
Financial Supports
Are you interested in donating to the Children's Choir?
Your donations allow us to keep our costs low to our families, to purchase music for our music library, to expand on the musical opportunities we can give the singers, and to allow for additional performance opportunities in the community.
Consider giving a gift to the Children's Choir in celebration of a loved one, or to commemorate a special occasion!
Donate a Set of Music!
Consider making a one-time donation of $50.00-$75.00 to the CCB to help us buy a new set of music for our choirs next year.
Your donation helps us purchase a full set of a brand new song for our choral library. If you wish, each copy can be stamped to show that your family donated that piece, or that you donated it in celebration of someone special.
