I want to thank you for visiting my site and getting to know more about the artist behind the lens. I was born in Southern California in 1990 and had absolutely no connection to photography growing up. In 2008 I discovered my passion for photography and began the large undertaking of teaching myself everything I can about photography. During high school I was lucky enough to borrow a DSLR from my school principal. He enabled me to teach myself while saving up for the camera I currently have.
In March of 2010 I had my first gallery exhibit at Twin Oaks custom framing/gallery in San Marcos, CA. Later that year I had bought the DSLR I own today and my technique really focused. I had acquired more gear to achieve what I was attempting and my style became apparent.
I tend to enjoy taking long exposures with water and clouds. Long exposures yield the most mystery and serenity that simply any other style cannot achieve. Couple that with dark contrast and you'll be thinking for hours! Water is such an important part of photography because it takes on so many forms. It can make a photo aggressive,
or it can turn a deadly sea into a still pond just by using the right tools and your mind. Living in Southern California yields many opportunities for beautiful sunsets and sceneries against some of the most dynamic beaches.
I have always been an idealist, or at least someone who contemplates too much. I believe it shows in my photographic style and the titles I assign to my photos. I am asked all too often why I am not involved in other genres of photography (namely portraiture/weddings); the answer is quite simple and complicated all in one. Landscapes, or less specifically, nature is the most detailed, intriguing and inspirational subject that you could capture. None of it is under your control, so when you do get that perfect shot, you feel that much more accomplished and satisfied. Not to mention it gets you motivated to explore the outdoors and see the world. Simply put, nature is so much older and more compelling than any human can ever be and to be able to capture that and frame it on your wall offers us only a small window into a much larger world. It's the constant search, similar to a surfer looking for that perfect wave that never comes, that inspires me to get back out and shoot.
In our busy lives we very rarely find time to eat let alone time to stop and enjoy a sunset or a mountainscape. I hope I can bring a piece of my passion and vision into your home to offer that small window of opportunity of discovery and beauty that this world has to offer. I'd like to know if you find something on my site that intrigues you or perhaps something you simply find relaxing. Feel free to contact me with any questions you have about me, my art or prints. To purchase a print simply contact me with the title of the print you desire and its dimensions in inches as well as style you want (paper print or canvas gallery wrap). I will then return your email with its price.
Welcome to my world of photography and the subjects around me that inspire it!
