Club Outing 17th October 2010 If you put an ancient burial ground, a tranquil forest and a sandy beach together you have all the ingredients for a great day's photography and what a day it was!Members from Carrickfergus Photographic Society (CPS) set their alarm clocks to a time alien to them for a Sunday morning, armed themselves with cameras and sustenance for the day and set off in convoy to the Antrim coast.First stop was at an ancient burial ground and after an enjoyable and rewarding time there the members dined al fresco. A few members decided on the healthy option but the traditionalists opted for the time honoured combination of egg and onion rolls, belly busting bacon butties and of course the old favourite the corned beef sandwich. The members were still hungry. Hungry for more photographic opportunities that is! So the road train set off and moved inland to a secluded wooded area where the full impact of Autumn could be captured. A healthy portion of craic followed this and it was unanimously decided that a day out would not be complete without a visit to the seaside. So the final leg of the journey saw the entourage head for sandy beaches where such majestic animals as wagtails, sandpipers and not forgeting the goat were photographed. The day came to a close as it had started with enthusiasm, camaraderie and laughter.If it sounds like you missed a fantastic day then to be truthful you did but the good news is you can avail yourself of all this by coming along to the next outing which is scheduled for 20th February 2011.
