Nobody's Child CD
When I visited Zimbabwe in August 2008 and January 2009, both on five week missions, I came across a whole ocean of new talent. This talent wasnt found in the Churches, or it wasnt found in the big open places or on stages. I found this musical talent hidden away in a small, humble orphanage, near Harare. When those children sang to welcome to us to their home, I was moved to tears and I knew instantly, as a singer myself, I had to do something with this talent. These children were blessed by God and had a powerful gift that could move all those who listened to their hymn.
These children face a bleak future. There is a major food shortage and these children face one or two meals a day of their basic staple food. Schools are closing fast and teachers do not turn up to teach them, so they have no education. They are orphaned, but have found Father in God. Their voices and sound and praise to God split the darkness around them! Praise God!
Despite the major problems in Zimbabwe, there are one or two businesses left in tact. We located a recording studio in the capital and booked two days of recording time and a producer, who could work with us. We collected a group of the orphans to come and record a whole album of 12 songs with an Anglican Youth group called Tariro Tabarana who we are supporting. Most of the children never leave the orphanage let alone have seen a microphone!
Choosing a wide selection of Christian music from Zimbabwe, we set to work recording and had the most fantastic time! The children ranged from 5 20 years.
No one has ever taken an interest in these childrens voices before, but in them I caught a glimpse of the voice of heaven pure and innocent. The sound of their voices is simply truly amazing. I thank God for these children and for the blessing they pour out to all who will take the time to listen.
