Fabio Assis was born in beautiful Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. He developed his music career with the Olodum Creative School, creator of the new fusion sound of samba reggae. Fabio has dedicated himself to cultural activism in the struggle against racial discrimination and socioeconomic inequality. He believes that music heals and has the power to bring people together. The message in his lyrics is one of Love, Peace, Freedom and Unity. Reggae music is his passion. Fabio is the former lead singer of Badaue, a popular Los Angeles Afro-Brazilian band that has won world music awards from Los Angeles magazines. He was also the singer for MiliMili, a world music band that drew massive crowds every time they played at any venue in the Los Angeles area and beyond, including gigs abroad. Fabio Assis has also performed with renowned artists, including luminaries like Jimi Cliff, Julian Marley, Natirutz Cidade Negra, and many others. Fabio is the lead vocalist and founder of Reggae Motion. His vision is that through the music of Reggae Motion he can spread the word that "We are all one" one race, one love, one soul, and that we can all live in this word with peace love and harmony.
