I am a local artist both in makeup and traditional paint art.
With 12 year experience in art and makeup, I bring experience, professionalism and talent to my clients to suit their needs. I opened Del Mar Avenue Art & Design (DMAve) in 2000 as primarily an art and graphic design studio. I created commissioned products for my customers in everything from traditional canvas art and indoor murals for residential customers to murals and graphic logos and websites for businesses and non-profits. In 2002 I added art classes in the summer for children and teens and art tutoring.
2002 also brought makeup as a part of the studio. It began with proms and lead to high fashion including magazine covers and spreads, runway looks and body painting. Makeup includes everything from wedding and special occasions like birthdays or quinceaneras to every day looks through education and activism on cosmetic safety and proper use. Makeup lessons for teens and women who would like to brush up on their skills and airbrushing. I also do face painting for birthdays and kids events as well as charity events and public festivals. Theatrical makeup is where I got my start so naturally that is something that I offer as well, theatrical can be actual theatrics to Halloween costuming. Body painting is available for special projects, clubs, bars, promotions, etc.
As part of the makeup, I always had skin problems like acne and terribly dry, flaky skin. While I could camouflage this with makeup, I needed to deal with the underlying problem. It was what I was using to cover my skin problems that was irritating it more. I tried expensive dermatologist recommended medications, hormonal medications, diet, popular TV products, everything and nothing seemed to work until I came across natural treatments. Since 2008 I have been offering these treatments to the public after a great demand to know what exactly I had done to cure my skin. My products are made to order. In 2004 my mom joined me and we started a jewelry line where we started designing jewelry for ourselves and people were literally buying it off of our necks in the street. We began allowing customers to design their own creations and we would build them as well as continuing to design them ourselves. We provide jewelry repair as well.
