Hi, I am Bilal Zuberi. I live in Boston, MA and came to the USA from Pakistan. I am currently a Principal at General Catalyst Partners, investing in deep technology companies, esp in clean energy & advanced materials. Prior to that I founded GEO2 Technologies, a materials-science company that also spun out BIO2 Technologies, worked at The Boston Consulting Group, got a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from MIT (working with Mario Molina, Nobel laureate 1995), and got my B.A. from The College of Wooster.
I am married to my best friend Lama and have adorable children Ayla & Zaid. I have 2 brothers (Faraz and Hashim) and a sister (Mahvash).
I love technology, am an avid online reader, and like to travel internationally.I also have a strong interest in international politics, global human development and higher education. My hobbies include cricket, skiing, squash, social networking. I appreciate good coffee and prefer ethnic food. i blog semi-regularly and broadcast frequently on twitter.

I left Pakistan in 1995 to travel to the USA in search of education. I have been away from my family for a very long time, and miss them very much. I am fortunate to be married to Lama and my daughter Ayla is th emost precious thing in my life. Lama and I try to visit our overseas families often but it is not the same.
