HOME WHAM!
Our mission is three-fold:
1) To lead by example, regardless of our age, in living a God-filled life,
2) To create opportunities to serve those around us, just because, and
3) To show God's love to one another and to others each day
1 Timothy 4:12 says
"Don't let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith and your purity."
This is what we want to do!
ABOUT About Us
Our youth group meets every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month from 7pm to 9pm at the church. Friday nights are all about youth and God. People from church donate food (THANK YOU!!) for our meal and we eat and hang out for a little while. Then we get down to the real deal: the Bible study.
We talk about all kinds of things at WHAM, and we all get to participate in the Bible discussion if we want. We have only been meeting for a couple of years, but there are about 25-30 of us there most of the time.
We also get to do service projects and social events. We've gone bowling, had a pool party, been to Busch Gardens and Typhoon Lagoon, and we've even taken a ministry retreat to TN!! We have volunteered at Metropolitan Ministries for the last two years and we want to keep doing service projects like that (If you have any ideas, email our leaders from the contact page). We founded and hosted our church talent show, BSDA's Got Talent and it's an annual event now! Super fun!
We also have a Ministry Team, but they have their own tab so check that out.
Our leaders are Amy and Chris Altadonna, Ray and Deloris Wyatte and Sarah and Edymar Penagos. They are good leaders for us and we love them!

WHAM Signing Ministry WHAM Ministry Team
The WHAM Ministry Team was born last Easter when WHAM did the entire program at church. We did a full play about the Last Supper and told the stories of the original disciples of Jesus. The girls' part in the play was signing to several of the songs and it was great! We do interpretive sign, dramatic spoken word and drama.
Since then we have been blessed to share our program with others across central Florida and in Tennessee while on a ministry retreat. We only want one thing to come out of this ministry: Glorification of God. Anything beyond that is simply icing on the cake! (Not a real cake...)
If you'd like to see a video of the program, Free to Behold Him, click here http://brandonsda.com/sermons_2011.html and scroll down to January 29th to download the file.
If you would like to join us for one of our programs, check the "Whats Up Now" tab for dates and email us with any questions you have. We would love to have you!
Message from Sarah Ministry Retreat Recap
I am amazed at how great the ministry retreat went! God always outdoes himself and it easy to see with experiences like this one. We got to do SO MUCH (too much for 3 days, lesson learned) and he was with us the whole time, making himself evident over and over again as we went about his business.
The service project for the family in Apison, while exhausting and extremely hot, was a blessing to take part in. Seeing first hand land that had been occupied by three homes and a barn with nothing left on it was eye-opening. We worked for a good part of the day...can you imagine what it's like to wake up each morning being the farmer whose farm is no longer there? How overwhelming it must be to rebuild your home and your livelihood. It's not like he can say, "I'll just go to work and forget about this right now," or "I'm so glad to go home and just relax." His home and his work are all gone. It was humbling to give a few hours of work to help a family dealing with such devistation.
Both programs that we did went great and were well received, worth the effort and energy required to do them. As long as God is glorified, each program is a success, and he saw fit to bless us with offerings to cover the cost of renting the van. He takes such good care of us!
Sunday was a BLAST! Rafting was so much fun!! Much needed fun during a jam-packed weekend. The coolest part of that for me was getting to watch you guys have so much fun doing something brand new. Rafting is one of the best things I got to do when I was in youth group. It was wonderful to have the same experience with my WHAM Fam!!
It was so great to be with you guys. I can't tell you how much it meant to me to have you all here. I'm am truly blessed. God is so good to us!
Love,
Sarah
