6.29.2011Drummer Tyron Sampson, Bassist Reginald Payne and myself are embarking on a new journey in the form of a trio. Along with this development, I am consideringstarting something new; a practice blog. A digital log of things that I'm working on,listening to and thinking about as it pertains to music. Hopefully it can be a resourcefor others and most likely, will be one for me as well. Hope you enjoy the coming summerupdates! Peace=]1.20.2011Hello & Thanks for visiting my small piece of the web. Brian Forehand
Bio
History
Born in Washington, D.C., Brian Forehand began playing the saxophone at age 9. Inspired early on by the greats of the bebop idiom, he became an early fan of jazz. At the age of 13 Brian joined the Blues Alley Youth Orchestra under the direction of Jacques Johnson and experienced performing live for the first time. A few years later, he also participated in the WJAI summer mentoring program, along with saxophonist Jeff Antoniuk, who leads a masterclass based in Maryland, helping to lay his jazz foundation. After entering college under a Music Technology major he met like minded musicians and further developed his musical tastes. Now, Brian seeks to bring his brand of traditional jazz mixed with modern influences to the widest possible audience, at the same time inspiring younger players to pursue their endeavors musical or otherwise.
