Someone says that noise music is just set of various sounds which are unpleasant and injurious for philistine ears. The others consider this as unlimited and creatively free form of the musical entertainment.
As for me I’m almost inclined to think that Noise is kind of Art. This thought is proved and suggested by one pieced musical unit from industrial backwoods of Siberia. Meet Anton (known as 「Booby Mason」, 「Snimoknok」, 「Plerva 」and hiding under many other aliases, also taking part in several collaboration projects), he is a young and rowdy artist who destroys/creates everything and simply lives in Omsk. There he founded his own little label 「|Hiroshima Toy Pet」|, there he started his self-proclaimed revolution under the flags of unstoppable & uncontrolable Art. Maybe stuff made by Booby is very special and unique because of his location, maybe this turned so through his interest in Japanese alternative culture; but one thing I know for sure: this music is damn good.
Technically it’s more traditional with a slight touch of experimental processing: a thick viscous mass of carefully distorted and recycled recordings covered with a thin layer of psychedelic analog powder. This is a cosmic stratum of heavy aired ambience with highly saturated noise inputs. I dunno how to describe it more accurately; you can just hear it, feel it, imagine it and even touch it. It’s like floating reverberations over the electric plants, like journey through the deenergized neural system of bleeding machine... no, it’s rather like mute whispering of the last forms of organic life rushing through the cold space at the speed of light. This is very personal and intimate music, this is the edge between synthesized daydreams and artificial nightmares, where traumatic emotions of musician can be encoded only in patterns of colorful splashes.
I specially avoid traditional cliches of reviewing because this is mistake to describe this music in other way. This is infinite art. Booby takes inspiration in everything that surrounds him, in every trivial and usual things, so all his releases are actually packs of musician's emotional experiences. I could forgive him insufficient length of his outputs. This can be imagined as short flashes of positive emotions in exhaust fog of boring reality. I know how dull and dejecting is life in the Siberian city not by hearsay, and I wouldn't be surprised if these manifestations are just his way to overcome the neverending boredom. According this, he reached his aim.
So what we have as result? Complicated, hardboiled textures of weird, sometimes terrifying and thrilling soundscapes, that are very situable to stay alone with youself and get into the dark space of human consiousness.
