Studio hire

BMEG Casting is situated on Waterworks Rd in Ashgrove - just 4.5 kilometres from the centre of Brisbane. With ample on-site parking and bus-stop out the front, it is easily accessible and our roomy reception area and balcony can accommodate large groups of people.

Our studio is air-conditioned and fully equipped with a choice of video cameras, soft box lights and blue wall, as well as DVD burner and monitor for playback.

We can provide copies of auditions on mini-dvd, DVD, via email or uploaded to a website of your choice.

Tea and coffee-making facilities are provided and cafes and supermarkets are just a short walk away.

Sue Manger

Business Manager Liza first met Sue when she was 15 years old and attended one of Sue's acting workshops in Sydney. Student and teacher are now working together again. Something of an industry all-rounder, Liza was a member of the all-girl singing sensation "The Teen Queens" - and has the gold records to prove it - and also appeared in a wide range of Australian TV Shows and feature films - "E Street", "Wildside", "Murder Call" - before moving into presenting - fronting an hour of live-to-air television each week on Foxtel's Television Shopping Network. Now that's an art form. At the same time Liza was also working in recruitment and marketing - refining her talent-spotting skills and sales flair - and thinking of new outlets for her unique skill set. The perfect oppportunity came along in 2007, when Liza moved to Brisbane and established a successful theatrical agency - Brock Management - which she subsequently sold to the current owner Rowena Mohr in 2009. In 2012 Liza rejoins Brock Management as a partner and has developed a full service casting division within the agency.With BMEG Casting and Brock Commercial, Liza has once again found an outlet for her talent-spotting abilities. On the set of "The Teen Queens" video clip for "Be My Baby", Liza pointed out two of her hunky back-up dancers - Simon Baker and Andy Garcia - and predicted "Those two boys are going to be massive stars..." The rest is history.
Head of CastingSue’s love of the performing arts began when she first started going to the theatre in England around the age of five. Not one for the spotlight herself she became a student ASM for weekly Repertory Theatre, only to end up appearing in London’s West End five years in a row at Christmas time as a weasel, ferret, stoat or rabbit in “Toad of Toad Hall” - all part of being in Stage Management then!On arrival in Australia, and finding no such jobs in Stage Management existed, Sue began working in television as a Production Secretary at Channel Nine on shows like “Today”, “The Mike Walsh Show”, and “The Don Lane Show” as well as various in-house commercials and sports shows.Making the transition into drama, Sue was Casting Director at Grundy Television in Sydney for nine years, and cast some of Australia’s most popular TV shows: “The Restless Years“, “The Young Doctors”, “Sons and Daughters”, “Waterloo Station” and “Richmond Hill” to name a few as well as being responsible for the Sydney casting of Melbourne-based shows “Prisoner” and “Neighbours.“After leaving Grundy’s Sue established herself In Brisbane as a freelance Casting Consultant and cast many short films and television commercials until she was asked to go to South Australia to become Casting Associate on “McLeod’s Daughters”. Between 2001-2008, Sue auditioned local actors for the show, held workshops and became an on-set extras-wrangler. No better way, claims Sue, to fully appreciate the casting process from audition room to set - from high-profile actors to non-actors, children, babies!On her way back to Brisbane, Sue became sidetracked in Sydney and ended up working in Helen Salter’s office with Tim Littleton and Anousha Zarkesh casting TV series “, The Cut” and "Saved" and a slew of feature films including “The Loved Ones”, “Accidents Happen”, “Road Train” and “Beautiful Kate”.Finally making it back to Brisbane, Sue held actor-training workshops with Ben Parkinson Casting and continued her association with Anousha Zarkesh, auditioning Brisbane-based actors for the initial casting of “Slide” (bringing in Brenton Thwaites who eventually got the lead role of “Luke”) and “Tomorrow When the War Began”.Sue is looking forward to her latest role as Head of Casting for BMEG – and to working once again with Liza.More details can be found on www.suemanger.com
