Indigo's New System salon, Indie Salon Society, has two missions.
First, to bridge the gap from cosmetology school to the professional salon and second to retrain and retool stylists from other salon cultures to the Indigo culture.
For Junior Stylists fresh out of school, the process is rigorous and only the most talented and dedicated students are accepted into the program.
For Stylists and Senior Stylists, Indie serves as a proving ground with training meant to produce the same impeccable cuts, color and finish work that have been Indigo's trademark for over 13 years.
Indie stylists attend 4 to 6 hours of advanced education a week and cut and color hair in the salon on a full time basis.
For our customer, the prices are sweet, with haircuts starting at $23 and color services starting at $40. And because we only accept top notch talent, the quality is superb.

INDIGO ANNOUNCES THE RE-LAUNCH OF INDIE SALON SOCIETY

Indigo the Salon is proud to announce the expansion of it's successful Stylist In Training Program with the re-launch of Indie Salon Society.
"This really addresses the disconnect that we are seeing in the talent that is coming out of the cosmetology schools," Indigo owner and Artistic Director Hillary Wallace said. "The schools are doing a great job in the time they have to get young stylists prepared for the basics. Clients in Greensboro, specifically our clients, demand the extraordinary. Extraordinary technical ability, extraordinary customer service. We feel strongly about the teaching formula and the systems that we have in place to transform ordinary into extraordinary."
The concept for Indie Salon Society was first launched in October of 2007 when Indigo The Salon embarked on a major expansion from it's original location at North Elm Village to their current 6,000 sq foot digs at The Village at North Elm. With six months left on their lease, Indigo joined forces with Paul Mitchell Systems to trial a teaching salon concept and Indie Salon Society was born.
The decision to re-launch the concept salon was an easy one for Wallace. "The work that was exploding out of Indie was young, fresh and gave some really talented stylists a great start," Wallace said. "It was a positive vibe and we really feel a strong commitment to grow the stylists of tomorrow. It positions us well for continued growth in the industry."
Indie will take over the 800 square foot ground floor of Indigo The Salon, enabling the Indie stylists to work more closely with the stylist mentors at Indigo. Paul Mitchell Systems will continue to be an influence in the concept and have designated Indie Salon Society an elite Paul Mitchell Focus Salon.

Kathleen Scully -- An intense stylist with strong skills, Scully is the most recent talent to graduate from the Indigo Stylist in Training Program. A gifted stylist, Scully is a steady and able to bring her clients great looks!
