With winter being the most popular time for couples to get engaged, spring and summer bring about all the wedding planning fun. From creating your wedding website to organizing every detail of the big day, most people need a little bit of help getting it all together. For some, Pinterest is an adult-approved version of scrap-booking, in other words, a total dream come true! With the ability to ‘Pin’ images you find on various websites straight to one of your boards on your very own Pinterest account, it’s a great way to collect inspiration for an event as important as your wedding day.
Not sure where to start? We’ve broken down all the steps for wedding planners beginning their journey with Pinterest.
How to Use Pinterest Like a Pro
Forget using Google images to search for your perfect wedding hairstyle! Pinterest is equipped with its own search bar at the top of the page where you can type in exactly what you’re looking for, like ‘wedding dress’ or ‘wedding hairstyles.’ In fact, once you type in a search, Pinterest will offer you options to help you get even more specific. So, if you start out by searching for ‘wedding hairstyles’, it will likely offer you to dig a bit deeper and search for ‘wedding styles for long hair’ or ‘wedding hairstyles for bridesmaids’.
Another way to navigate through Pinterest? Their handy categories feature. Under the search bar, there is a small drop down menu of general categories like Gardening, Photography and of course, Weddings. Once you click on the main category, Pinterest will suggest even more categories like wedding cakes or wedding rings, allowing you to really get down to the nitty-gritty details of your planning.
Follow the Leader
As with any social platform, to stay in the know you want to follow the best influencers who will be posting trends you’ll want to jump on for your big day. All of the major industry leaders are on Pinterest, so consider following boards like The Perfect Palette, Martha Stewart Weddings, The Knot and of course, Wix.
To help you start planning your magical day, we’ve compiled the best of what Pinterest has to offer.
